Sorry to hear about your dear SIL @Shirley Martin You know the older I get the more I’m lost for words when it comes to family or close friends being struck down with serious medical issues Sending a big hug to let you know I’m thinking of you
I know, @Kate Ellery . Sometimes the only thing we can do is a hug to let them know we care, like people have said here. I didn't go to see her yesterday. Bubba had a cold when he got here Friday and I think I caught it. The last thing she needs right now is a cold. I'm taking my echinacea and goldenseal capsules and I hope I can fight it off. I did call her yesterday and we talked for a while.
Boy, @Shirley Martin with so many cancer loci, do you know if they are metastatic from one location, or does she have multiple types of cancer all at once. Cancer in the spinal column is terrible. There is a surgically-implantable pain blocker that may relieve the terrible pain, but it does nothing for the progress of the tumors.
She is gone. She died this morning about 10:00. The cancers were much more aggressive than they first thought. I was able to spend time with her and cook some of her favorite foods. I didn't have to let her know how much I loved her because she already knew. I last saw her Monday. I knew that the time was soon.
I am so sad to hear this, and I know that even when we know we are going to lose someone we love, that does not make the loss any easier. Sending you my prayers for comfort for you and the family, and also a big HUG to help you know you are cared about, @Shirley Martin .
