    I think your original question was on circumference. Area would be integration, but circumference...? I guess I am getting confused about what is being discussed here. There might be a way to work the circumference using Analytical geometry, but it has just been too long. I think then an ellipse would be two parabolas.

    Would seem reasonable, but the minor diameter "meeting points" would not be a smooth curve, but rather interrupted. Confusion is generally expected by most due to my weird meanderings.......

    Yes "I" is an imaginary number that can't even be expressed!

    But if you square it, you WILL get Minus 0ne!

    I celebrate Pi Day. I used to do it because it made my daughter laugh. Now that she's gone, I do it because it makes me think of her laughing.

    [The same reason I celebrate "May the Fourth Be With You" on May 4, "Towel Day" celebrating Douglas Adams ("So Long and Thanks for All the Fish") on May 25, and "Back to the Future Day" on October 21.]

    Better: The square root of pi "r" squared is pie ala mode!
