    After Class (2019 comedy, drama)

An NYC professor spends a week re-connecting with his family while defending his reputation over controversial behavior at his college.

Good show, especially if you like ethnic humor, in this case Jewish ethnic humor. I give it B+

Few days ago I watched "Anatomy of a Murder" with Jimmy Steward; this movie fascinated me the other day as much as it did 20 years ago.

Not a movie, but I started a 6 part series on TV about Abraham Lincoln, called Lincoln: Divided We Stand. Part 3 is tonight.

    Suburbicon
    2017 dark comedy, drama

This is more dark than comedy. Depressing, I rated it C minus. Maybe it's your speed.

In the bosom of Suburbicon--a family-centred, all-white utopia of manicured lawns and friendly locals--a simmering tension is brewing, as the first African-American family moves in the idyllic community, in the hot summer of 1959. However--as the young patriarch, Gardner Lodge, and his family start catching a few disturbing glimpses of the once-welcoming neighbourhood's dark underbelly--seemingly random acts of unprecedented violence paired with a gruesome death will blemish, irreparably, Suburbicon's picture-perfect facade. Who would have thought that darkness resides even in Paradise?

    A View From The Bridge
    (1962 Drama)

Eddie Carbone, a Brooklyn longshoreman is unhappily married to Beatrice and unconsciously in love with Catherine, the niece that they have raised from childhood. Into his house come two brothers, illegal immigrants, Marco and Rodolpho. Catherine falls in love with Rudolpho; and Eddie, tormented but unable to admit even to himself his quasi-incestuous love, reports the illegal immigrants to the authorities.

Very powerful drama. I rate it B
