Last night we watched our DVD movie, Megan Leavey. Great movie about a Marine and her Marine German Sheperd. Based on the true story of a Marine's best friend! It got tears in our eyes!
Does anyone remember the periodical Grit? That was quite a trio with Lee Van Cleef in whatever movie that was (For A Fistful Of Dollars?). Totally off topic because I couldn't find an appropriate thread and didn't want to start a new one - here's a pic of Marilyn and Shelley Winters when she they were roommates and Shelley was skinny. They were looking for their big break. I think starlets is the word. The guy looks like Sinatra but I don't think that's him. I've always been in love/lust with Norma Jean.
Grit has been around since 1882 and is still alive and well. -Started as a newspaper -Went to a magazine format -Bought by Ogden Publications (owner of Mother Earth News, among others of the genre) -Has a website -Still in circulation as a bi-monthly @ $21.95/year -Available on newsstands at farm supply stores And back on topic... It was The Good (Eastwood), The Bad (Van Cleef), and the Ugly (Wallach). Il buono, il brutto, il cattivo
Yentl. I’ve seen it multiple times, but I like to watch a musical every weekend so I often rewatch. Yes, I sing along with them all. It’s most enjoyable with my daughter who has a remarkable voice, but singing alone has its merits as well.
John, I'm thinking that you and I could do that movie as a duo. I could be the Good and you could play the other characters rolled into one.
Thanks for that, Ken. I remember reading funny stories in Grit ) or was that the Farmer's Almanac?). I might look into a subscription. I had no idea they were still around . That got me thinking about the weather forecasts for an entire year in the Farmer's Almanac. That's either misplaced confidence or paranormal ability. My crappy chinese computer died and I had to buy another crappy chinese computer. They last me about a year.. It too me a couple of days to get it set up. I'm BAA-ACK!!
Just received, from Amazon, our Blu-Ray DVD "80 For Brady", so will be watching that again this weekend. If time permits, will also be watching Top Gun: Maverick (again), Sandra Bullock in Ocean's 8 and Left Behind.
