    The jazz stations I listen to play their share of Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughan and Ethel Waters, but I have not heard Bessie Smith played once. Maybe that's reaching back a little too far for them.

    Since it was 78 degrees yesterday afternoon, as we were coming home from a Walmart parking lot grocery pickup, we had the front car windows down. Had Bob Segar's "Old Time Rock and Roll" song playing pretty loud on our CD. Not blasting, but loud. The vehicle next to us, at a stop light, was two, what appeared to be, upper 70's age men in it. The driver heard our music and was singing along. My wife looked over and got a real kick out of seeing him singing. She said, "I know he singing this Bob Segar's song, we have playing, by the way his mouth is moving."
