Most folks who listen to the George Strait, Brooks & Dunn and others like them, consider the old Johnny Cash, Conway Twitty, Little Jimmy Dickens and others from that generation as "cry in your beer" type songs. Although, the first songs done to Line Dancing, that I remember, was Elvira, Tulsa Time and Red Neck Girl. I remember back in the 80's, while doing some Square Dancing, in-between Square Dance Tips, the Caller would play those songs and the floor would fill with lady Square Dancers.
