It's grown a lot since then Frank, so many plazas and restaurants and shops and malls and subdivisions. I think if I wanted to try every place to eat here it would take me a couple years eating out every day. It's just too hot in the summer for me but you live in AZ and that gets a little hotter.
I was born in Portland Oregon and grew up in various parts of Oregon. We seemed to move every 2 years when I was in school. Portland, Salem, Dallas, North Bend, Glasgow, Coos Bay, Florence, Bend, Clackamas, Oregon City, Stayton. Cashmere Washington for a short time, staying with my mom's relatives. We moved to California about 30 years ago. I loved California right from the first day I arrived but I still get homesick for Oregon, especially Portland and Florence. We also lived 1 year in Grand Junction Colorado and that's where our youngest son was born 41 years ago. I liked Colorado. Worst 18 months of my life was spent in a little town outside of Muskogee OK. No offense to anyone from that part of the country but it wasn't my cup of tea. Besides living in all those places I also traveled a lot with my husband on his job the last 15 years before he retired. I've been in about 3/4 of the states and I really loved traveling. We went by car and plane both. FL, N.C., GA were my favorite places.
I grew up in Erie Pennsylvania, which I believe has the title of snowiest city in the U.S. Erie is a very blustery place, However, the summers there were laid back and idyllic. I would love to have a summer place there if I could afford it, because my elderly parents live there still, and I have several family members in the area. I love to go to visit as often as possible. I have lived in Virginia since 1984. I would have no problem living in another place, but my son is here, and I guess it is home now.
I'm from London originally but think you are all very fortunate to live in America Such a beautiful country
I also was born in northern Illinois, in a little town called Lake Villa. I also was married in 1963. Then I moved to southern California high desert. now in Tennessee. I am considering moving to Oregon.
I live at Latitude 34.5 deg. N and 117.186 deg W, at an altitude of 3000 ft. So there you have it in three dimensions! Hal
Cuckoo is the epicenter of that August 2013 earthquake that destroyed so much up and down the east coast and into Canada. I live between there and Charlottesville.
Chicago, IL 1952-1970 Champaign, IL 1970-1972 Chicago, IL 1972-1978 Austin, TX. 1978-Present Hoping to move to Colorado by next summer. Austin is too hot, too dirty, too expensive. It was a truly great town when I first moved here. Things change.........
Where I live in my heart....... Beautiful north Idaho. I used to ride my horse up in these mountains. I miss that.
