@Don Alaska , I think I mentioned this one to you before, a series we watched for a couple years, everything is in real time basically, we got to kind of know these guys. We started with the first episode, not this one below.
I can't watch that show. I freak out about icy roads here in Wisconsin. When I drove cross country, I dreaded going through Pennsylvania with all the jack knifed trucks in winter.
Seinfeld...........still. I just read last week he makes 50 million per year still on reruns world wide. Sadly none of the cast members signed on for reruns. I read a long time go Lucille Ball guessed reruns would be the norm in TV . I think she was very smart as I Love Lucy and her other series are still being shown nearly 70 years ago.
I don't know about Ice Road Truckers, but the guys from North Woods Loggers (who had a television show for quite a while) are from Millinocket. They said that the producers insisted that they set up a bunch of problems that they wouldn't ordinarily have to make the show more exciting. I expect that much the same is true of Ice Road Truckers. They were embarrassed about some of them because professional loggers wouldn't have gotten themselves into these predicaments.
Anything is possible, although I do think much is real. The drivers and their families were interesting to us too, sure beats most of what the Hollyhoods put out. Most of movies now are just serving an agenda one-way or the other. I can watch the news for that. Now and then we find a good movie. I can't take violence, so we seldom watch violent movies.
I've been watching the old PBS Series 'The French Chef' with Julia Child. I absolutely loved Julia and I'm happy to see those episodes on Youtube. Here's the channel if anyone is interested... https://www.youtube.com/@JuliaChildonPBS
I too, like Julia. I watched a lot of her shows. I thought she was entertaining and so funny. I am easily amused.
I found a 4-part series called "Cold Blooded: The Clutter Family Murders" on the Roku channel. It's a well-done documentary about the murders that were the basis for Truman Capote's book, In Cold Blood. I have always had a fascination with true crime stories and this one does not disappoint. Amazing the amount of work and sheer luck that it took to catch the killers back in the 1950's.
Netflix. Just started but a few episodes in it looks good: Not just another soap opera or dubbed Eastern European series like most of Netflix.
Still watching the show, Numb3rs. We watch one show a night. We also have started watching, Monk. "It's a jungle out there". Monk show is rather silly, for lack of a better word.
I thought this was strong for Season 1, but before it got far into Season 2 it got so woke that it is hard to watch while eating. Hanging in there, but maybe not for long.
