I don't think they show mosquitos, black flies, no-see-ums, or snow and below zero temps, take that into account when you buy your trailer. I think I told the story about the friend who wintered in an RV with frozen water and sewer and the bedding frozen to the walls. Be sure to bring a porta-potti for use when the sewer in the black and gray tank freezes.
Are those what we call no see-ums? We have those and black flies that love my face. I have these nifty hats (and shirts and pants) with mosquito netting over them for working outside. Sometimes I get caught on brush and have to untangle so I don't get holes.
No, they are not no see-ums. All I've ever known them by is gnats. They are attracted to the moisture in our eyes, nose and mouth... so they swarm around your face during the "dog days of summer" as my mother used to say. Found this picture online...
We have blackflies in the early spring, then BIG mosquitos (breeders that have overwintered), the small mosquitos that have hatched that last until frost, no-see-ums that occur in later summer and something we call yellow legs that are really nasty small biting flies. Since we moved to the "civilized" part of Alaska, we have the mosquitos, and no-see-ums, but not the nasty yellow legs things.
The good news is, they don't bite. They just annoy you half to death. I remember my grandma sitting in her wooden rocking chair on the porch, holding her "fan on a stick" that she used to fan the gnats away.
Just finished watching season 5 of Virgin River it was good no idea when the season 6 will be filmed or released
I just started watching the original old "X Files" series on FreeVee. (Free with Amazon Prime) There are 11 seasons, each with 24 episodes or something. That should keep me busy for a few days!! I remember when it was on TV but I have forgotten most of it. Skully and Mulder look so young.
Monday thru Friday at 12:30PM, my wife's 1/2 hour lunch break at home, the tv goes on to watch old episodes of Deal or No Deal. Most definitely an old show of "greed". People turn down Deals of thousands of dollars to try and get more. One lady we watched actually won 1 cent. That's right, one penny! She kept saying "No Deal" and wound up with one cent. But, some others made terrific "Deals" and went home with over $200,000 and the case they chose (that was placed beside them, had $1,000 in it.
I'm watching Midsomer Murders, Sherlock Holmes with Jeremy Brett, and Shetland. I do this about once a year, not more. The last super good one I "finally" watched was Downton Abbey although I had some disappointments in it, just the story-line got a little too "soapy" for me Oh, I can't leave out Jessie Stone, maybe best binge watching show ever for me.
