This question was asked by announcer on a radio station in Adelaide ,he invited people to phone in and tell him what they either found in a second hand car or their own car after a good clean out ...One caller found a porn magazine after removing rubber matting which had obliviously been in the car for a considerable time ,by the condition of the magazine , others found fast food chips that had not detoriated in weeks So if you gave your car a through clean what would you more than likely find under seats? In the boot ? Anywhere in the car ? Maybe something you have misplaced of forgotten about ?
I had bought only 2 second hand cars in my lifetime. I did not find anything at all. The cars were really clean and well cared for. I've long since sold the cars and done with driving now. I thought about it for 6 months about renewing my license that year. I decided to ride the bus only as I do now. Luckily my cousins help us when we need them and they don't take gas money! My Mom is so lucky to have wonderful family to help her.
Well, I never found anything much in all the used cars I bought. But, what had me worried was what a small town marshal found in my car when he busted me for a traffic violation. I nearly wound up in jail. Thank God my dad knew so many people.
Looking for something in any of my old cars would be a waste of time. I always had a thing for knowing what was in there. But, my late husband was just the opposite! It looked like he lived in his cars at times ... jackets, food, tech gadgets, tools, files from work, many things that should never be left in a car. One day after he had sold one of his cars, and someone was coming to pick it up, I went into that car for a last 'sweep' ...lol (after he had cleaned it out) ... I gathered up over $50 in change and a pair of sunglasses left in the overhead compartment. His cars were a gold mine of goodies.
I've had three new cars in my life. A Datsun-Nissan pick-up truck, which I bought during the time in which they were switching their brand from Datsun to Nissan, a Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck, and a Chrysler Sebring. I have had several used cars and trucks, including a two-story White House Car, which was like a bus with a spiral staircase leading to a second level. It was beautiful but, unfortunately, it didn't run well, I didn't have money to fix it, and couldn't find a place to store it, so I had to sell it cheap. I never found anything interesting in any of the used cars I bought though.
I recently acquired my daughter Cathy's car, a 6 year old Nissan, which is immaculate, so I doubt I would find anything, as she had it regularly valeted since new.
