I had a 10oz Rump steak cooked medium rare, with a side of Broccoli in cheddar cheese sauce... .. I understand according to google our Rump steak is called Sirloin in the USA... and our Sirloin is called... Porterhouse in the USA...
I had one of my large salads. I make it with fresh romaine lettuce, tomatoes, onion, peas, kidney beans, and cheese and a vinaigrette dressing. There was a little bit of the liver sausage left, so Poodle and I ate that, and I also made a cup of chicken boullion because it is chilly here today.
This should be interesting!! After I was an adult, my mom admitted when money was tighter, she would make my dad salmon patties out of tuna fish. Maybe he was just tied from being in college while working full time, but she said he never noticed.
Glad you added the information. I saw 'Rump' steak and wondered what that would look like on a plate.
Hah! I wish the veggie burgers were cheaper; I'm shocked by how much they cost. (And they have high calories, too. ) I'm going to try some of the homemade veggie burger recipes instead of buying the patties ready made next time. Anyway, the hubby said he could tell a difference but "not bad." I guess if you put enough onion and cheese on anything it tastes OK.
Yummy; sounds excellent Yvonne. I've been having bouillon lately, too! I had forgotten how much I like it, and it's a tasty "snack" on a cool day.
I have heard that some of them are quite awful. The ones we had weren't bad at all, but I'm going to try making them from scratch next time.
There are some easy recipes on YouTube for making veggie burgers. I had one that was simple and tasted good. I will see if I can find it again and post it in the recipe section if it is not already there. I actually tried it.. liked it, and then made about 5-6 of them and froze them for when I wanted one and didn’t have time to make it. Also, Augusson Farms (in Utah) makes a great canned dry mix and it has black beans and rice. I added some of that into the recipe that I was making from YouTube.
It's homemade pizza day... woohoo!! Italian sausage, green peppers, black olives, purple onion, red peppers, beige mushrooms, pizza sauce and an obscene amount of mozzarella. I think I have all the colors covered.
I love Mozzarella.... Tonight I had French Ham, and Roast beef slices, with a mash of root veggies ( carrots and swede) ..with beef gravy.. ...and now I'm having Cracked black pepper Crackers with Blue Brie cheese... for supper...
Veggie burgers - I once had a great recipe titled, "I can't Believe It's not Meat." Some of the ingredients tofu: (I never eat Tofu, but it worked in the recipe), small amt of flour, lentils - I think. It also looked just like ground beef. I wish I handn't thrown that recipe away. I've searched for it only quite a few times. Tonight I had a salad with lettuce, radishes, cucumber, celery and leaves and an omelette with sauteed peppers and onions.
MY o/h had Tofu tonight , he has it often *erk*, I hate it. But tonights was supposed to resemble KFC
I've been simmering a big pot o'chili all afternoon. It will be perfect for this cold, dreary day. Topped with some grated cheese, chopped green onion, a dab of sour cream and maybe a few tortilla chips on the side. (And don't forget the beer!!)
