Today I made curried brown rice with lots of steamed veggies (cabbage, onion, carrot, daikon radish, kale) and chicken and sliced almonds. We ate it with some soy sauce and I had rice vinegar on mine, as well.
It was delicious and healthy, and I have some left that I will use in the morning with a poached egg on top for breakfast.
Pot roast today, with rice and green peas.
I had leftover fried chicken. My daughter picked some up from WalMart yesterday and split it with me! It was very good.
Ham and cheese on onion roll.
Had cousin and his wife visiting from Florida so had pizza delivered from Domino's.It was very good.
I couldn't decide what to thaw out to cook today, so we'll be having Domino's delivered this evening. (yay)
Looking at my menu for tonight's dinner choices I think I will have the Sword Fish with Baked Potato & Green String Beans
We had a Chinese take -out delivered last night from a Chinese restaurant in the next town which we haven't used for over 20 years when the food was horrible and the cleanliness was bad . ..however we'd got flyer through the mail from them last week, new set up, new menu.. so we thought we'd give it another try!!. MISTAKE!! it was revolting!.. who the hell burns Prawn crackers???
Today we had late lunch at the pub so I wasn't hungry for dinner this evening, instead I had some pistachio nuts and a sultana and raisin scone for supper...
Precooked bacon and a couple of frozen waffles. I went all out for something healthy...........
Bess, I've discovered that those frozen waffles are much better if you thaw them before eating
I can't decide whether to make penne pasta with italian sausage and artichokes, or to thaw out a container of leftover chili. The chili would be easier but the pasta sounds better. Guess I'll consult with the other half to see what sounds better to him.
After being soo poorly all last week, I've not really gained much of my appetite back tbh.
yesterday was my first day ut in over 2 weeks,, and while we were out I bought a whole load of fresh meat to freeze . I got 3 pounds of thick Lamb chops for £10 from the independent butcher shop... 2 pounds of Minced beef, 2 pounds of skinned chicken thighs , and 2lbs of link pork & beef sausages. I froze them in individual portions because I'm the only one who eats meat in this house, and only about 3 times a week, so all of that meat will last me about 6 months or more. The freezer also has lots of Haddock & Cod smoked and unsmoked in there .
Earlier this afternoon I had Prawns and scallops in a creamy Lobster Bisque, so I probably won't eat anything else this evening..
Friday night is tuna subs for us.
I wouldn't have a clue, hubs' sense of taste has almost entirely gone..he can hardly taste anything at all or for that matter smell , and refuses point blank to go and see someone about it
