I like cabbage. I used to eat it regular at the cafeteria but no cafeteria any longer. Only one time has cabbage been cooked in my house. That was back in the seventies. Mother in law lived with us and she cooked a batch. It was good but she and my wife said it smnelled up the house so that we'd not try it anymore. If I cooked, I'd have cabbage once in a while.
Beth, I am lucky I bother to eat at all sometimes. I do have hunger pangs and that's what will motivate me. Of course, If I have a real yen for something, watch out!
Ribeyes, baked taters, salad. And I'm baking a loaf of french bread in my bread machine. Still have leftover custard pie.
Husband is on his way home from MIL's and will stop at Popeye's for chicken and mashed taters. No cooking for me!
Yummy. I'd love some liver and onions, but my husband would get the dry heaves so I can only have it when I go out.
Bobby is on his second dish , so I think that it turned out okay. With the added rice and vegetables, it makes it a pretty filling and well-rounded meal. After I added the cabbage, I remembered I had a bit of leftover rice in the fridge, and then put in some of those frozen mixed veggies just to add a bit of pretty color to the meal. Bobby and I often eat separate meals, @Beth Gallagher , so maybe that would work for you to have liver that way, too ? Of course, Bobby is a chef and enjoys cooking, so he is not dependent on me to cook for him, and that helps, too.
My husband is not a cook so he'd be eating cereal if I didn't make dinner. I don't deliberately cook things that I know he doesn't like, so I occasionally get my liver fix from a local cafeteria (Luby's). He's normally very easy to please but he is adamant about bologna and liver... apparently bad childhood experiences!! Your dinner sounds yummy! My mother made the best liver and onions, with a rich brown gravy. She always served rice and some kind of green vegetable along side, and probably a hoe-cake. (Farm wife!!)
It should look something like this: I had it a couple of times and it was quite good once I got used to the mashed potatoes being on top of the meat. This is more of a northern meal, than a southern one.
Yum. When prepared well and correctly it is Wonderful. Love a good Shepards pie. Fun and easy to make for those of us who don't have Chefs cooking for us! Having a variety of cold salads and ham steak
