Pinto beans and corn bread . It has rained off and on most of the day, so something cooked and hot seemed like a good idea for tonight.

Sirloin steak (we need to empty the freezer! A New beef coming this week and I don't know where to put it!) Salad made with home grown cabbage, cukes and tomatoes, and home grown new red potatoes.

Robin leaves for the Netherlands tomorrow, and today we went to get my passport so that I can come and visit her eventually. Afterwards, we went to the little Greek cafe (Papa Gyro’s) and had the Gyro classic platter. There were also the little side containers of salad dressing and the Tzatziki sauce. It was SO delicious !

Baked a plain yellow cake. From scratch.

I found an explanation why a loaf cake humps up in the middle when you bake it and did an experiment. Put a slightly smaller pan I saved (from a package of brown and serve rolls) inside a regular cake pan, with a little aluminum foil stuffed around the edges. It worked. The top is almost flat as a pancake. (No, it didn't fall.)

This is only important if you're making a layer cake, or want a pretty cake. It popped out of the pan more easily also. Later topped with chocolate frosting.
