Home grown potatoes and home grown steak. But our cabbage salad is store bought. We didn't have a good crop this year. No desert. I am trying to be on a diet.
I've a pot of vegetable beef soup that should be ready in about a half hour. I seasoned (salt, pepper, brown sugar and Italian seasoning) and cut up some top round and added sliced bacon, onion, potato, carrots, celery, peas, yellow pepper, and added tomato ketchup, beef broth, minced garlic and a touch of soy, worcestershire and red wine. I don't follow any recipe and add stuff to taste at the end if needed.
Homemade chicken green enchilada cream cheese soup with jalapeno cornbread and sour cherry pie and coffee ice cream for dessert.
Last Saturday at the market they had individual thanksgiving meals for $5 so that's what's for supper with iced coffee.
Ordered pizza a rarity for us, but am down with severe shoulder pain so no cooking for me tonight. Also ordered little apple pies for later.
The churches I was attending make and deliver Thanksgiving meals the Saturday before the holiday. They make sure at least some folks get this meal. Last year we delivered somewhere over 100 meals...not bad for 3 small country congregations. They dropped one off for me (since I've self-banished due to the virus.) I made a salad to go with what they delivered: -Turkey -Mashed potatoes -Stuffing -Gravy -Homemade green beans & ham -Dinner roll -Cranberry sauce -Homemade pumpkin pie
Probably a salad w/cheese & crackers. I had a late lunch of Steak & Cheese with fries at the local Mom & Pop place. I had to get out of the house.
