I had some leftover fries I'd cooked the night before, and still had some chili left in the can, so I made up another batch of the chili cheese fries, but this time I had less of both, so I fried up an egg and topped the chili cheese fries off with that. There's probably a name for the dish, but I don't know what it is, but it was delicious. I have a feeling I'll be making that again, and might serve it up next time I have (a particular kind of) company.
Sounds like something you could order in a restaurant, @Diane Lane ! I just tried to look up the name of it, and wow, a LOT of neat recipes showed up including all the above in a burrito! Google "chili cheese fries with egg" ... amazing! I'll have to give it a try. As for tonight... after my pig-out session this morning, I think I'll probably be eating again tomorrow morning sometime.
@Mari North I've been craving Frito pie, but haven't had the Fritos or even any tortilla chips. I'll have to rectify that next time I go shopping. That's always been a favorite of mine. Last night's supper was just Beefaroni. If I get the energy, I'm going to cook up the pork cube steaks tonight, and have them with a cucumber and tomato salad.
Oh I totally love Frito pie. I made some last year, and it was really good. It beat Sonic's by a mile I am sure. It is not really hard to make either. I mean, I think it is right up there with some of the unhealthiest things you can make, but...Oh well, what doesn't kill ya makes your stronger, to quote a famous pop song! I think I am going to have spaghetti. I found some turkey meatballs stuffed with cheese at Kroger.
Tonight is Korean Lettuce Beef Wraps with local Romaine to wrap it in... and fresh blueberries with cream. I *think* we may head to a huge flea market tomorrow and I'm excited to see what kind of fresh goodies I can get there!
My son was hungry earlier than I so he cooked for himself and went to bed early. Later, I ordered out for a burger and fries. I ended up feeling I had paid too much for the poor quality I received. Lesson? I need to eat more at home.
Last night, I had one of my skillet meals. What's a skillet meal? At my house it's, put some water in a skillet, boil, add some instant rice, When rice is about done, add some canned or thawed frozen veggies and some pre cooked ground beef, garlic, onions, diced tomato's, Cook until the water is gone, douse liberally with hot sauce or ketchup, eat out of the skillet. Ingredients subject to change. Hey, I live alone. I do use a fork or spoon though.
Last night I cooked up some cube steaks with a pan full of gravy, baked potatoes and green beans. I have enough leftovers for at least 2 more meals, probably 3, and that makes me very happy, because it's way too hot to do much cooking right now.
it's nice to have a treat like that now and then, Beth. I haven't had pizza in a while, but have been craving it, so I might have to make or buy one soon. Last night was a lazy night. I made up a potful of pasta and just tossed it with some sauce and butter. Yum. I'm out of cheese, or I would have added that on top.
