All of that sounds delicious, @Jeanee Burke , and welcome to our Seniors ONly Club ! ! Glad to have you joining us. There is a little section at the top left side of the main page for introductions, if you would like to let everyone know that you are here, and tell us a little about yourself if you are comfortable doing that. We are having chicken and macaroni salad that is made with my potato salad recipe tonight. Just a simple and fast meal, for this hot and muggy day. Chipper is already rolling around on the floor and saying his "Holy Roller Grace";so He is anxious for dinner, too.
Are you really? I am guessing you are pulling my leg! They are harmless after all, I think, at least.
Whopper and Fries or encore Papa John's Pizza. And a jumbo nectarine that is the perfect ripeness today.
Just finshed my lunch, a tin of sardines and five Ritz crackers, a small can of v-8 juice. Finishing off with a cup of black coffee.
I like cabbage but It has only been cooked in my home one time in all my grown up years and that was in the '70s when my MIL was living with us. She cooked a pot full and she and I ate it over the course of several days. I remember it smelled up the house. I would like to cook some but Lordy, not that much. There used to be a chain of cafeteria s in Texas, called Furr's Cafeterias, back in that time, and I often got cabbage with my meals there. I 'm not sure how you cook cabbage, boil it in a pot I would guess. I wouldn't want to cook up a bunch since I am the only one who would eat it but I was thinking of taking about four leaves and cutting them into two or three squares and cooking them. That should make a good helping, maybe two if you were dieting. Seasoning would be salt and pepper I'm guessing. Anyone know a better way?
We cook cabbage quite a bit. I really like it with potatoes onions and carrots in a pot roast or corned beef. It can be boiled as you said or fried in a skillet alone or with other vegetables or Polish sausage.
No, not pulling your leg. Nothing wrong with eating them on occasion but I was eating too many. They have sugar alcohol and nothing good in them. And each one had 4 grams of carbs which is a lot for colored water. I do love them though and they are low calorie, take time to eat, cool me off in this heat but I was eating too many.
