Yvonne is with Robin (her daughter) and they’re on their way back from a weeks worth in Florida. Maybe if she gets back pretty soon this afternoon.........
Left-overs: Did a double order of Chinese Take out yesterday, so that's on the menu. Sweet Sour Chicken, fried Rice, egg roll, Wonton soup and something in a container that the wife didn't finish.
When Robin and I were on the vacation trip to Florida, she took me to a Greek restaurant to eat, and we had an interesting meal. It was rice cooked with sautéed onions and then they put red beans with lentils on top of the rice. Over top of that was a kind of salad called tabboulah, and then you could have either avocado or hummus, plus what ever kind of meat that you wanted. It was really delicious ! So tonight, I decided that I would try making something similar, but using the foods that I have; since I don’t have all of the things they used in the Greek restaurant. Mine was red beans over brown rice mixed with lentils, and then a kale and feta cheese salad over that, and with chicken to go along with it. Bobby just had the chicken and red beans and rice; with no salad on top, and it turned out to be a meal that we both enjoyed. Here is a picture of the dish that we had at the Greek restaurant.
My favourite food of all is Greek food @Yvonne Smith . We're lucky enough to have been to mainland Greece and the Islands ( Kos, Corfu, etc) as well as Turkey and Cyprus on many occasions and the food is always wonderful.
@Babs Hunt , we fish down near the coast. We catch a variety of fish. I had these in the freezer from last fall. I think they were black drum. They were good.
It's been a long time since I've been fishing. I miss it and I do eat what I catch if it is legal size.
Thank God, there is somebody who refers to the main meal as SUPPER instead of dinner! When I was young, back in Wheeling, West Virginia in the early 1940's, Breakfast was the morning meal, Dinner was the mid-day meal, and Supper was the evening meal! It would be sacreligious to call that painting of Christ and his disciples "The Last Dinner"! Hal
Grilled petite sirloin steak, baked potato, seasoned pinto beans and seasoned baby brussel sprouts. At our house it is breakfast, lunch, and supper @Hal Pollner.
