We refer to the main meal of the day as "dinner" and the evening meal is "supper". The meal at Christmas, New Years or Easter, for example, is always "dinner" no matter when in the day it is served. Sometimes we refer to a meal between breakfast and lunch as "brunch" and between lunch and supper as "lupper". Dinner denotes a more special meal. I can't read Aramaic, Hebrew, or Greek, so I don't know what the Seder was called, or for that matter, what Leonardo originally called his painting, but if I had named it, it would have been "The Last Dinner".
Today we had baked Tilapia, yellow rice with rotel and bell peppers in it, and asparagus spears. This was the very first time I ever cooked fresh asparagus and it came out just fine. I wrapped the spears in foil with some margarine, salt, and garlic powder and baked them until the were tender and this is something I definitely will be doing again now that I know how simple it is to do. Next time I will try some different seasonings too.
I have asparagus spears a lot @Babs Hunt , I love them. I'm unable to eat much at the moment..(health issues)... last night I just had sea Scallops gently fried in a tiny bit of herb butter
Tonight I made spicy stir fry with tofu and ramen noodles. Bobby said he was skipping the tofu. Chipper actually ate his tofu; but I am pretty sure that his little doggie mind was saying that it was the blandest chicken that he had ever had in his life. He tried the same bite about three times before he finally ate it, and after that he seemed to accept that this was how his dinner was going to taste. When we went to the Asian market, I got one of their spicy curry ramen noodle packets to see how I liked it, and of course added lots of stir-fried veggies as well. Remains to be seen whether Bobby will try some , or decides to make himself a hamburger.
We had some wonderful cooked dried navy beans with ham and sausage, cole slaw, and corn bread for supper.
Tonight we will have rump roast with white potatoes and baby carrots. All crock pot coooked. Will make some roast gravy and maybe have some croissants.
Last night super was a small bowl of corn flakes with a banana.. Tonight I had scrambled eggs, a slice of toast, and a sausage patty.
We had fried chicken, butterbeans and snaps for dinner so I'll just have a piece of leftover chicken for supper.
For dinner we had leftover fish pie, to which I added some roast peppers, mushrooms plus stir fry onions and courgettes................... washed down with a G&T, which I have been drinking for a change from beer, they sell it in the corner shop here for 80 cents a can...
I had pizza and beer last night. My wife is down south in Washington state helping one of our daughters recover from surgery, so I can eat stuff I usually don't when she is home. I am home caring for the chickens, dog, cat, and nursery plants that we will be selling next month.
I've just had Pizza too. It's not something I eat very often, but hubs bought the grocery shopping this week while I was in hospital and he just bought food...any food, he's not very good at shopping lol..so I ate half of it (thin crust Hawaiian) ...also I had some salmon mousse, dressed with whole prawns, and served on scallop shells... I'd been on a starvation diet since yesterday in prep for my hospital tests this morning... so I was starving by the time I got out at around noon.. so I stopped off at the local pub/restaurant and had a Bacon Roll and a Skinny Latte,... ***yum***
