Sure, I can. This is one recent list from U.S. News. According to their criteria, Canada is Number 3. The U.S. is Number 21. Best Countries to Live in the World | U.S. News (usnews.com)

And another list from 2021. Canada Number 1. The U.S. Number 6.Canada is the No. 1 Country in the World, According to the 2021 Best Countries Report (newswire.ca)

And yet another. Canada Number 4. U.S. didn't make the list. Best Countries to Live in the World: Our Top Picks for 2022 (wherecani.live)

We're catching up to you in that respect, but that's not the kind of country I want to live in.

That's your choice, of course. I prefer to live in a country in which people have the right to peaceful protest (which they do), but if those protests disturb the peace, harass citizens and paralyze city cores, that's when their "rights" end and should be dealt with swiftly.

Granted, the third list I posted is mostly based on opinion, but the other two are based on data, analysis and facts.

All protests disturb the peace of someone. There'd be no point in them otherwise.

Sure they do, but the protest in Ottawa brought the downtown core to a standstill for weeks and the noise was extreme...truckers were blasting their horns and partying with loud music 24/7. They made the lives of non-participating residents intolerable. No one should have the right to take over a city like that.

BBBUUUTTTT…….BLM took over a large portion of Seattle and had loud music, partying and even broke into stores and burned places and robbed people and people were murdered but yet you told everyone here that it was racist to dislike BLM.
    .
Oh yeah….BLM is liberal (Marxist actually) and black so doing that must be okay then as opposed to the truckers.

But no, I do submit that you wrote that NO ONE should be allowed to do that so ………..

    Good morning to all-

Liberal and conservative are just words- and not very expressive words, either. To think that people can be put into one or the other of these "groups" is inaccurate at best and downright misleading at worst.

Politicians use simple words like liberal and conservative to try and corner any discussion about real actions to be taken to correct wrongs and make life better for people and to put the general population at odds with each other- easier for the politicians to do- or not do- what they want- not what the people need.

I am very, very conservative in my personal life. I pay my bills, I am faithful to my wife and family, I try not to bother others around me, and I determine the course my life takes- I am responsible for my life to a large extent.
But I am quite liberal when it comes to politics. I believe government exists to serve the people- not the politicians- and I believe that many government programs which provide folks with food, health care, and other basic life services represent money well spent. I believe that each child deserves a free, appropriate education to meet her/his needs.

Those who ramp and shout about "Liberal" and "Conservative" are just playing word games and trying to muddy the water so what is really going on can't be seen.

And speaking of word games- can any of you good folks please tell me what "woke" means- I hear it from time to time- especially from the governor of Florida- but I don't have a clue what it means- if it really means anything.

You all be safe and keep well- Ed

    Good Post Ed.

Woke? I really do not think anyone really knows any longer.
Initially, it was supposed to mean something in the realm of someone who is aware of societal inequalities but now, who the heck knows?
I mean, it was woke to take Aunt Jemimah off of the syrup bottle because it’s racist but it is also woke to put a trans-black individual on a cheez-it box.
Another example might be that according to the new woke pronoun movement, I’m no longer a man. I’m a cis-male and as such, I can’t use the ladies restrooms. If I had my “druthers” I’d rather be a bro-male because cis reminds me of sissy which I am not but hey, as long as I know who and what I am it really doesn’t matter.

Right now, I haven’t gone past my second cup of coffee so by MY definition…..I’m not woke yet.

I take "woke" to mean that everything about what was the status quo or "normal" was all wrong and we are "waking up" to that fact, but anyone can place anything they want in that category and that's the problem.

    Pretty much.

One of the woke complaints now is about guys who offer to help or look at the scantily clothed ladies at the gym.
Now, get this. The new woke feminists are claiming that if guys look at them at the gym, we’re creeps and have to stop doing that whilst at the same time, the new feminists are claiming higher body counts because of how females were sexually oppressed in the past.
Note: a body count is how partners one has had for sex. I digress.

Also, all a man need do is claim an opposing pronoun such as trans (other than cis) and he can look all he wants and even frequent the lady’s locker room because trans=men have been oppressed in the past.
Notably, even non-binary (people who claim no gender) can frolic in the realm of wokeness because they too have been sexually oppressed.

Oh, Bobby you're playing with words again. LOL (1) I never said it was racist to dislike BLM. Show me where I said that. (2) When I said that no one should be allowed to protest violently, that would include the BLM and any other group, even if I may agree with their cause.

    Nice try.

It started out presumably as a protest against COVID restrictions. Then it morphed into a huge anti-government fiasco, whining about how the country is run in general and calling for the resignation of our Prime Minister. Some people were displaying Confederate flags (which is incredibly stupid, given that those flags are a symbol of U.S. Civil War), and flags that said "F**ck Trudeau." Incredibly disgusting.

Many of the people who attended were just there to party and raise s**t. The instigators were ignorant, right-wing, racist rednecks. Really despicable people. They got well-deserved jail time.

And what did these crybabies accomplish? Absolutely nothing, except costing the city of Ottawa millions of dollars to clean up the mess they left behind.
