One of the free forum scripts, I think it was phpBB, allows (or once allowed) the forum administrator to ban himself, after which s/he could no longer log into the administration account to undo the ban. These hapless individuals would find their way into support forums looking for a way out of it. Now, if an administrator were to ban himself for a set period of time, there might be some use for that, such as to establish that the rules applied to everyone. But a permanent ban?
Well, @Ken Anderson , anybody dumb enough to permanently ban themselves from their own forum pretty much deserves what they get, don't you think?
Where Is Everyone? Maybe, gone to the Moon......it's amazing how some people occasionally seem to step off the planet, then return with a big grin.....
Who is the He yall are refering to? Tried to trace back but still could not find a name. I stay signed in except at night will log out. I check in off and on during the day. There still seems to be several of the members who have not signed on in months.
As far as I know, he is okay. He is a facebook friend also, and has been posting some on facebook. It seems like gardening and canning always keep Sheldon and his wife pretty busy at this time of year.
The very best guys have gone first. My Dad adhered to that belief; if he was right, I will be the last to go, denying deprivation to those enduring my dubious reputation. Frank
Possibly one of the down sides of a 'Senior Aged' forum..... If someone isn't around any longer, you wouldn't know if it's because they don't want to or they no longer can.
I think some of the members here probably knew of "Sifu Phil Bonafonte", from this forum and the other. Phil died a couple of weeks ago from complications of diabetes; he was only in his early 60's. He had not posted much on either forum for quite a while and I had wondered how he was doing. RIP, Phil.
I don’t know for sure, @Shirley Martin . but i believe that he is fine and is taking a break (as we call it here), and hopefully will come back again when he has resolved things. He has been online here a few times, but not posted; so I am supposing that he is okay and will post again when he feels like it. I am hoping that he comes back !
I remember Sifu Phil very well, too, and I am very sad to hear that he has passed away. He was one of my first “forum friends” at the other forum, and it seemed like he had not done well at all after he got the diabetes. Ina really cared about Sifu Phil also, so I hope that they are both up there in heaven somewhere, laughing and telling each other funny pirate jokes.
