Well Sheldon it looks like you have already put Trump in the White House for the next term. :)

Not sure if you mean when you guys got tired and the Revolutionary War fighting formally ceased on April 18th or.........? :).

At the very least, when your guys went home they could have left us with a proper cricket team! Now THAT’S dropping a bollock!

At this point, it is still looking like President Trump may run again in 2020, or at least his supporters seem to want him to do that. It looks like he might choose a different running mate than Mike Pence possibly.
    I have a question !
If VP Pence were to resign , or be forced to step down, does President Trump appoint a new VP to replace him, or does it follow the chain of command line that happens if the President dies ?

Trump appoints one, as Nixon appointed Ford to replace Agnew, before resigning himself.

My mother in law once responded with a hearty "Yes, of course", when I asked her if the Democratic Party ran a MONKEY for president.....

This remark convinced me of one or two things. She had been totally "Democratic" brainwashed, or she was a complete fool, or maybe, just maybe, a MONKEY could run our country most beneficially!

@Frank Sanoica my grandmother was the same way with the Republicans.

IMO it doesn't matter who gets elected as long as both parties continue to dig in their heels and refuse to compromise in order to get things done.

Maybe someday we will be able to get along without politicians and just run the country ourselves by voting on important issues from our phones, tablets, and computers like a modern-day version of the old Roman games.

Representatives must be elected, Beatrice, else it would be anarchy. The thing is not to make running for office so expensive, and not to make it so lucrative once elected. Fat chance of that happening anytime soon.

@Lulu Moppet I guess I don't see it as anarchy if every eligible voter has the right to vote on a specific issue directly without electing a politician to represent them. To me, it is just a simple mandate from the people. The sticky point would be who words the proposal to be voted upon.

If M. Pence does decide not to make another run, it might behoove the president to run with Ted Cruz. They’ve been making nice for the past year or so and it would be one step further for Cruz to run for the presidency in 2024 and win. I was actually looking at Nikki Haley to run but I guess she’s had enough just representing us at the U.N.

On the Democrat side, I can’t see anyone waiting in the wings whom I would even consider voting for. With the exception of Joe Biden, there’s too many prospects who run so far to the left and are hades bent for absolute socialism that it’s even hard for me to recognize any part of a Democratic Republic in their agendas.

I like choices and I do not like to be pushed into a corner. If someone from the Democrat side ran who was more toward the center of the aisle, I would be glad to look at him or her with an honest appraisal.
Thus far though and should he decide to run, it looks like a Ted Cruz ticket in 2024.
