Why did I get the car I drive? There were a number of reasons. One was comfort. I am older than dirt and wanted a car that had luxury level comfort (e.g., AC, heated seats, heated steering wheel, climate control for each front and two back seats) A second reason was value. I wanted luxury or near-luxury at a non-luxury price. A third reason was handling. I like cars that handle very well without a harsh ride. A third reason was resale value. A forth reason was safety features (e.g., heads-up display, lane warnings, traffic sign recognition, radar speed and braking control, rear vision and cross traffic alert, anti-creep and hill holder, ABS, TCS, etc.) Fifth, I wanted a clean looking car that wasn't edgy or cluttered with trim. Sixth, I wanted a car that got good reviews from my trusted review source (i.e., Car & Driver). That car is a Mazda CX5.

Another factor in my choice of wheels is wind-in-your face motoring combined with great, like it's on rails, handling. Aside from the motorcycle, the solution for that was and continues to be my old, 2010 Mazda Miata.

It goes without saying that I am very thankful to still be able to ride and drive these vehicles safely.

i have owned were given to me by family members. The first one, a Volkswagen Beetle my daughter bought new. She drove it four years, put 36, 000 miles on it before deciding she needed a larger car for her work. I drove the VW bug for sixteen years then sold it. I was looking to buy something else when my son gave me a 2006 Ford Sudan. I drove the ford a few years before I quit driving for health reasons. A7887CCD-EE5C-4EE6-9C88-6C6FEAA2594F.jpeg

We mainly got our new car due to height to stop aches and pains ,as well as we like to travel to where it’s warmer in winter for a month. We go to Queensland which is a 3.1/2 day drive ( we used to fly up each year)

My poor little Toyota had almost 300.000 km on the clock but beacuse it had been taken good care of serviced regularly
by hubby who was a diesel mechanic in his working days I still got $3.500 trade in price for it @Marie Mallery

I bought a Honda Accord because when I looked at safety, gas mileage, and reliability. Honda Accord was #1.

We took a new Honda that was slightly smaller than the Nissan for a drive before buying our car I didn’t like it but Hondas have always been a reliable car @Shirley Martin
The new Honda we took for a drive didn’t have much leg room in-the front ,I’m 5 ft 1 and my knees were right up against the glove box with the seat right back as far as it would go

Was it a Honda Civic? They are smaller than the Accord. My Accord has lots of room.

You sound like me. Remember when you could see a car (front or rear) several blocks up the road and know the make/model/year? They used to have personality. Now they all look the same.

LOL I sure do remember. I went from souped up 55 Chevys to Lincoln Continentals right before they changed the design. Mach 4 wasn't a bad car either.
