Well, she's going to take a break from her job search for a couple of weeks, but after that...…….it's back to old grind again. Just like I told her "you go girl/Honey!!"

At last Pete, something slightly controversial and we both agree.
Now, I’d like to take it one step further. I have not heard of a “work or enter at your own risk” disclaimer yet. If say, Cody’s wife did get a job somewhere and caught the virus by going to work, would there be ample justification for a law suit? There are some employers who are throwing caution to the wind, so to speak, and I am sure are risking several workman’s comp claims by doing business as usual.

Of course, the good thing about Cody’s wife is that she’s an accountant so maybe she could do some work from home but what about the guys and gals who work in grocery and department stores? In the wake of a possible cure, could it be that a lot of infected employees will be filing class action law suits after the smoke has cleared?
I can’t figure out what provoked the thought but I can really see a bunch of ambulance chasing lawyers going to town after all is said and done.

I've thought of this too @Bobby Cole and I'm sure the President may have to end up making an Executive Order against something like this happening.

My husband's boss asked him to stay home for two weeks with pay so that he wouldn't risk getting the virus from work and passing it to me...I know he did this because he is worried about me as their are several older people who work there that will still be going to work. This little Country store is like a family and they do more than their share to take care of their "family". We appreciate this very much too.

I promise you that EMS, fire departments, and the police are still at work, although procedures might be changed to accommodate the panic.

My son was fortunate to just have been able to hire a good accountant and his wife who will see that he has all his appointments are kept in order as well as deposits being made to his business account. This duo was recommended by his neighbor who is also his landscaper. Eases his problems somewhat as his late wife took care of all this.

Due to us being under a "Stay At Home" Order now, by the Governor, she's still searching on her laptop, and has applied a few places, but doubts anything will happen right now. She did tell me, "If someone wants to interview me on my iPhone Facetime, that's ok, but definitely not in-person."

I had joined a website called “Working couples” several years ago, when it looked possible that Bobby and I might move or find a caretaker position somewhere, and they still send me updates every now and then.
Today, I received one for Castle Rock, Colorado, and I thought of you and your wife, @Cody Fousnaugh .
I don’t know how far that you are from this area, but the position is for a couple, and provides a place to live as well as an income. This is something that you and your wife could do together, and she can work from home, but have an income, plus you would save all of the money you are now spending on rent/utilities.
If interested, just make an account at the website (workingcouples.com) and you can look for free at this, and any other positions in Colorado.

Sorry, just wouldn't be for us. We know what the position is like, being that we've kept our current boat in one in both Florida and here now. The "caretaker" part of the job would include maintenance work, in which neither of us wouldn't want to do. We are both the "computer/desk/office type" couple. No labor involved.

Even though she still hasn't found a job yet, this coming August she will be eligible for UI again. The stimulus money we got and our tax refund has really helped us!

We don't mind paying rent/utilities, because we know that's the only thing we can do.

Gosh, I didn’t know you were an office kind of guy. All this time I was under the impression that you were a rough, tough rodeo / ranch style cowboy.

My wife and I used to manage around 200 storage sheds and I think I might have spent a whole hour a day maintaining the sheds. On top of that, there were no storage wars like on TV but we could claim and sell what we wished when someone abandoned their shed.
Of course, in Colorado you might have had to put a saddle on a small snow plow and clean up in the winter so people could get to their sheds but since you recanted your previous statement of being an outdoor ruffian so to speak, I guess you’ll have to be content with that rocking chair in the living room.

At least Yvonne did come up with something for you but I guess it must have been some sort of insult because you again, didn’t even have the wherewithal to say thank you.

First, Bobby, I worked a full-time job in Purchasing/Inventory Management (90% office/computer). Nothing tough about that job. And, where I done Jackpot Roping at, there was a couple of lawyers, a doctor and a law enforcement officer who roped as well. Not exactly "rough and tumble" jobs. And, I will add this...…..when I actually did the rodeo stuff, NOT ranch stuff, was over 20 years ago. By the time I had met my wife, I had already sold my horse and my roping days were over. So, your "rough and tough" definitely doesn't apply to me!! LOL

Actually, I never even gave it a thought to say "thank you" to Yvonne. Actually, my wife, and her family knows that me, and her brother, are like that...…..don't say "thanks" much.

IOW, Bobby, we would never/ever take a job like Yvonne came up with. It just isn't us! And, on top of that, I really never want to work again and, right now, my wife really doesn't want to keep her job search up. She has told me, "this job search thing has just become too draining for me!" and I totally understand. But, when she reapplies for UI, in August, she will have to resume her job search again, in order to stay qualified for UI.

Some people are milking the system with unemployment. They are drawing regular unemployment plus the $600 a week from the Stimulus Bill. They are getting more money sitting on their a$$ than they would be working. They don't want to work. And they won't as long as the free money keeps rolling in.

No need to get your feathers ruffled Cody. After all, if it is too difficult to say thank you to someone who cares enough to go out their way to help you and your wife, so be it.
I mean, I totally understand. Now that you have cleared up the cowboy thing and declared your stance as a desk jockey, it makes sense.
I have only met a couple of Remington Rangers who were thankful about anything so if you’re one of those personalities it makes things come together just like well....oil and water, H2O and H2SO4, peaches and sauerkraut...........

I believe the $600 stimulus to unemployment benefits expires July 31. Plus there aren't that many jobs to be had right now and people need to feed their families.

Gee, I had no idea people were receiving 600 bucks a month stimulus money per month. Where have I been? Or is this just for the unemployed and not us retirees? Not that I am looking for any for I am not.

A lot of money being thrown around these days. Where is all this coming from? I thought that the $1200.00 was it. Since the Senate vetoed the second Bill.
