AND the Washoe County Library System has had "Drag Queen Night at the Library".

His head is going to explode. And that might ruin his hat.

By "drag queen," do you mean the young beauty who drops the kerchief at the race track?

I don't have the heart to tell him that Reno is the nose ring capital of the world. In fact, there is a city ordinance that you cannot be a server in a restaurant unless you have face piercings.

No, but I'm sure he wouldn't approve of that either. Millennials, y'know.......

I didn't know that about Reno! Do you have to have multiple face piercings or can you get by with just one of those honking big nose rings like bulls have as long as you have at least one facial or neck tattoo? Is there a required point system, like two eyebrow piercings and one nose ring equals seven earrings and a tongue stud? Inquiring minds want to know; if I ever find myself there again, I would like to make sure my server is qualified.

I do have a tattoo, in case they check at the exit gate at the airport.

#1: The requirement is that you have something hanging from your nose as you ask if they want an appetizer. ("Our special today is Sliders.")

#2: You have a tattoo at the exit gate??? I'm afraid I may violate one of the Terms of Service if I prod that.

If you prod his exit gate, tattooed or otherwise, you may be violating more than a TOS guideline, depending on what local jurisdiction you're in during said act.

I think you folks are taking our dislike of tattoos to extreme. It is one thing to have a couple of tattoos, but to look like Post Malone or Machine Gun Kelly, absolutely not. We have known some young people, and a few Seniors, that have a couple of tattoos and that didn't bother us at all. On the face, neck and all over a bald head, now that, to us, well..............

We're not really looking at Reno, but more into Carson City. Although, Reno does have a nice rodeo there. Northwestern Nevada is known as "Cowboy Country" as well as "silver". When I looked up "Carson City for retirees", both of those were mentioned. Carson City even has a casino that is fully western/cowboyish and a rather large Old West Festival.

It sounds like you are doing a good job of checking out the possibilities online, @Cody Fousnaugh . Since you have a year to read and watch youtube videos about places you are considering, it seems like you should be able to make a choice that you will find enjoyable .
I had a BIL that lived in Sparks, and he enjoyed living there, and it seemed like the climate was good, too.

Will you move the boat, too, or sell it before you move ?
I remember that you said you were going to sell it a year or so back, and didn’t get to use it much the last couple of years.

First, Yvonne, I want to give you a HUGE "Thank You" from wife and I for your understanding.

Honesty, we don't know about our boat yet. If we keep it, we'll have to live somewhere close to a lake, like we do here.

When my wife took her "at home" job, we didn't have the days during the week to take the boat out, like we did the first summer we were back here and she wasn't working yet. Saturday and Sunday, at local lake, is jammed with boats/trailers at the ramp area. And, many young boaters don't have the patience to wait for older/Senior boats to put their boat in the water or take it out.
Last summer, we chose to take a week and go to Dodge City, Kansas. We are definitely hoping to get it on the water more this coming summer. We need to use up some old gas that's in it.

Anyway, thanks again for you post here. We will just continue to research on a few places in our County and now in northwestern Nevada.

I have tattoos, which have been on my arms since I was in high school, yet I have mentioned before that my first impression of someone with tattoos is not a positive one. I can get past it, but the first impression that tattoos make on me is negative. But perhaps an extended discussion of tattoos (not related to moving) could go in this thread.

Ken, I remember doing a thread about todays tattoos, somewhere in this forum. I got the "good, the bad and the downright ugly" from doing the thread. Sort of the same reaction I got about not liking being around smokers.
IOW, Ken, some threads/topics are just too controversial in nature to try and do and, if one is done, all I can say is........."stand by!"

Here is a story about a couple that are being charged with a Hate Crime and the tattoos law enforcement took pictures of that were on the man.
Couple charged with hate crime in alleged murder of Black Navy veteran (msn.com)
Be sure to read the part about the man's tattoos that read White Pride and a Swastika on his one arm. The article I read this morning, about the couple, showed his tattoos.

Obviously, I know that all tattoos are not the same, but..........
Anyway, back to my thread about moving again.

Cody, if you have old gas in your boat tank, you should probably get it out and clean the carburetor before you crank it up. Old gas in the carburetor dries to gunk. Hubby always ran the motor until the tank was empty when we put it away for the winter.

First, due to condensation build-up in an empty tank, we never/ever winterize our boat with an empty tank. That is highly not recommended. I'm on two different boat forums and was distinctly told that.

And, unlike the marine service we had in Jacksonville, Florida, that had a tank on the property for old gas, and they did drain all of the gas out of our boat, the marine services here don't have that or do that. Our gas tank is darn near full, at around 60 gallons of gas, both one year old and a little older. We found a Waste Disposal place just north of us, but the gas has to be in a legal gas container of no more than 2 1/2 gallons. We bought, and tried, a syphoning thing, but couldn't get it all the way into the gas tank, down to where the gas was. I'd put the syphoning tube in the gas opening and push as far down as I could, pulled it out and not a drop of gas was on the tube. Would have to go under the rear bench seat, where the Florida marine service got the gas from and go thru that to get to the gas. Have never done that and don't know if I really want to try. And, on top of that, how many times, with a 2 1/2 gallon container, would we have to do it??

Our best bet is to............start the boat engine by the dock, go over to the "No Wake/Fishing Area" and let the engine run to hopefully get enough gas out of it. The marine service that winterized our boat, put gas conditioner into the gas for winter storage. We'll see what happens when we take the boat in, in May, for summerization, and see how it will start for them.

IOW, Shirley, there isn't a way for us to completely drain the old gas out of our boat..............not here, anyway.
