Btw, it is illegal aliens, not undocumented workers or, worse still, dreamers 'Illegal' means they're breaking our laws. 'Aliens' means they're from elsewhere and not citizens of the United States of America. The demcoms are encouraging their invasion. Almost one million this month !!! Once they're here we house them, give them money, feed them, give them medical care. Real citizens can't get these benefits. They bring their crime, their drugs, their violence along with them. Depart them all, including their anchor babies, no matter how long they've lived here. Alternatively, instead of simply deporting them, give each and every adult six months of hard labor separated from their children, wives and husbands - something approaching actual penalties for breaking our laws. They laugh at us and our present policies and practices. A minor point: I despise having to choose between Spanish and English at every turn. We are Americans. We speak English here. If you can't make yourself understood in the tongue of the land then GO BACK TO WHERE YOU CAME FROM. I'm not xenophobic. Rather, I'm concerned that the powers that shouldn't be import uneducated, impoverished third worlders into the country, support them and give them the vote without having to show any identification. They are encouraged to vote multiple times. It is against all law and sense and turns elections into absurdities. These people are from authoritarian leaning countries. They are much more compliant to 'authority' than people raised in the USA. They will vote consistently Democratic and, in general, will obey orders and make better slaves for the oligarchs.
Funny story. Back before covid, a law was passed requiring a 'real id' to travel. A red dot on your driver's license or something. Still haven't gotten mine renewed. I got a passport instead. Digression. Anyway, it turns out, the priest for my first marriage never filed the marriage paperwork. He's dead, right? And the church filed my in-laws as the ones who were married, not us. Without the paper trail of who I am, it was to be illegal for ME to do some stuff. No one took me on a vaycay to Martha's Vineyard or anywhere. I had to go to court, frantic, to get my paperwork taken care of. Not where I live but where I got married. Had to get a daughter to accompany me, because of one leggedness, to an appointment with a judge that did not happen, because she had to go to lunch first, till two hours later... She was kind of incredulous and I told her to wait, the deadline was months off and others would find that they needed updating. Well the deadline has been postponed a few times because of covid and whatever. So the illegals can still be transported legally. At least my daughter is no longer a bastard because my marriage is on the books legally.
Some CRT woke stuff I would like to have taught in schools. Sarah Dengler on youtube. finds out that slavery had been going on forever. It is not just a race thing and blacks sold black Africans to the white slave traders. Whites could not survive the diseases in Africa to catch slaves themselves. If the BLM folks and kids understood that, maybe we could get together and move on.
Slang -- and political language, I suppose -- has no solid definition. It is apt to change as time goes by. And frequently, as time goes VERY QUICKLY by. The words are essentially the same. "Woke" is Ebonics for "awake." It has been since I was a young girl and surrounded by people who spoke largely in Ebonics. The common metaphor for those who are politically naive or simply oblivious to what goes on around them involves sleeping. People frequently accompany their writings about the world as it is with a plea to "wake up, sheeple!" and related metaphors. Maxine Waters was issuing her (unethical/immoral) call to action to Black constituents, so she used the Ebonic phrases. This awakened non-Ebonics speakers -- and those pretending to be such -- to the word and opened the door to wage their opposition to the statements. My own take on it, of course.
Politicians....never was a lie they would not tell. All they do is ply character assassination tactics. Never do a thing, but grab cash for themselves. Could not care less about the public. Woke? Just some jinogistic term someone came up with, to make someone else look bad. This one is a Commie, that one is a Fascist. Any time any politician says anything extreme, you can bet your bottom dollar it is character assassination time and truth went right out the window.
