Fixing A staple Texas word, and maybe elsewhere, especially among anglos, both educated and under-schooled, as in: "I'm fixing to put my boot where the sun don't shine." or "I'm fixing to go to the store, shall I pick up a bottle of wine?" Of course, we wouldn't think of using the word up here in Oklahoma.
