Actually, it's very handy to know no matter where you are. If you lose your network connection at home, it's nice to be able to troubleshoot and see what connection options are available, or to be able to set up a new device such as a new laptop, tablet, or streaming device at home. For instance... if our power goes out in a storm, I can connect to my cellphone and use it as a hot spot so I can go online without my cable router.
Obama phone maybe? I had one for a couple of years and for what it was, it was fairly good. I got loaded up at the beginning of the month with 150 minutes and if I wished for more, I could buy them.
"Obama phone" (??). Trac-phone. Thought everyone has heard of it. They all but give them away. As I said, mine cost $4.99. Frank
Guilty as charged. When I went back to school, I used to spend hours at the coffee shop inside one of the book stores here. It got me out of the house, but I was still working. It served a purpose. I've had meetings at coffee shops too--laptops galore! Plus, it's nice if you are working and having someone bring you highly over-priced coffee. I am more irritated by the people who never look up from their cell phones.
Even Walmart--I save on my data usage by logging into theirs. I don't know how I ever shopped without a smartphone before. Walmart price matches, even stuff on Amazon.
