I know there has been talk from others about prosecuting doctors who violate state law against the practice. The people who rushed Roe to the courts created the perfect wedge issue.
I had never heard of him before. He has lots of baggage. A gift to the Democrats in the 2024 House election.
OK, ya know what's funny? There is a law on the books in Wisconsin for just this issue and punishment from the 1800's and we did not even realize it of late until all the hoopla about abortion. I remember clinics in Milwaukee, when I was in school, giving out birth control and performing abortions after Roe v Wade. And now you have to go to other states if you want an abortion, I guess. But Mike Johnson is a Contstitutionalist, which I find comforting. If he follows the law, that is good. Some laws might need tweaking or removal. Not his specific job.
We were lucky to have such perceptive statesmen write our constitution. The really unfortunate thing is that we have an illiterate population of voters when it comes to the constitution. They don’t understand it’s importance as supreme law of the land, they don’t understand it and the don’t care about it.
Congress has also delegated (probably against the Constitution) many of its powers to the Executive Branch, so it is not just the ignorant electorate that is the problem. It is also the laziness and greed of our elected officials. The Founders believed we would vote out lazy, greedy individuals and prosecute them afterward, so term limits were not necessary. Here is where the ignorant electorate comes into play. Also, the educational system has taken measures to ensure that the American people don't understand how their government works.

Obviously those that want a population of sheep. I predict that "reproductive care" is going to keep many Republicans from being elected in the upcoming elections. And I'd like to personally slap the individual who came up with the euphemism "reproductive care" for abortion. Seriously?? Are snowflakes unable to utter the term abortion? I consider a pap smear to be "reproductive care," and as far as I know there are no laws against that. Yet. Why aren't men's "reproductive care" issues being considered by Congress? Only laws to control women's lives are germane?
If the Republicans don't ease up on this abortion issue, they will never win another election. I am in favor of most of what the Rs stand for, but I am also in favor of abortions up to 12 weeks. I intend to contact every R candidate that I can find a contact address for and tell them exactly that. I'm too old to ever need an abortion but if I did need one, I think that decision should be up to me. I think every woman should have the same right to make her decision.
