I should have known this! Of course most of 68 I was having or expecting kids with SOS. I probably heard it in 1971 for first time. Back in the late 60s I was listening to a lot of Tammy Winett and country songs songs, more my lifestyle then. We did have some great music back in the 60s,70s.
I've never been a country music fan. Some of the classics are listenable, but I think a lot of the modern guys are just jumping on the money train...and the twang pierces my eardrums. I do like bluegrass. Those perfect harmonies can send chills. It's soul music for mountain folk.
We have some great Blue Grass friends here but they don't play anymore since the husband passed. She could play the heck out of guitar him the Madalin. We still have one of their CDs made about 15 yr ago. Hubby loved playing music with them. I like lots of their songs ,Salty Dog being one of my fav's.
I bet that's corn liquor in those jugs.My first taste of alcohol was corn liquor at the walk in theatre.Thought I was choking to death. Did yall know that NASCAR began by bootleggers?
Ever since Virginia legalized marijuana, I can't get this out of my head... One of my first 45s was a Jefferson Airplane record. I don't recall the songs. Buddig meats (those small bags of the shaved stuff) had a deal...buy 5 paks and get a free 45. The 45s were right there at the A&P deli...just bring your record to the register with your 5 bags of lunch meat.
