These are 3 of my favorite Christmas decorations. The Nativity set with Scriptures sharing Christ's birth I bought, but the the embroidered hand towel with Hunt's on it was a gift from a little boy who was in my toddler Mother's Day Out class a few years ago. And the Steve and Barbara snowmen were a gift from our best "man and woman" for our first Christmas together.
Beautiful Babs I have a nativity, but it was made of Wood and part got broken off. I have to glue it together, and will do that if I can find the piece that broke off. If not, I'll find something to replace it this year. This is the first year in a few that I got to have my own decorations up, in my own home
Every Christmas since the year they were born I have given each of my grandchildren an ornament for their own Christmas tree one day. I actually enjoy picking out their ornaments each year more than I do their presents. And I hope someday when they are decorating their own trees with these ornaments, that they will have fond memories of the Granny and Papaw who loved them.
Precious keep-sake Joe. I had some of my grandmother's, that were passed down to me by my mom Long lost now. I have all of the photos thank God. My new avatar is when I was 4. That was a black and white I put some color into. I had to crop that pic, but the full one shows a "sock" monkey my grandmother made me Out of old, wool grey socks with the red toes? She used the red to make lips for the Monkey. I'll never forget seeing that Monkey hanging up in that tree, LOL! In that pic, where you can't see, the monkey is laying crumpled on the floor because my Annie Oakly outfit took the cake, LOL!! Kind of like the little fella in "A Christmas Story", he had his Red-Rider Beebee gun, and I had my Annie Oakley
They will Babs, I know my memories of gramma and gramps are really my happiest of all I hope everyone will feel welcome to put family Christmas photos up here too! I think I have a couple more
comon you all, I know you have some of you in days gone by Would love to see them I'm trying to keep from crying about Tennessee It's so heartbreaking, people losing everything But this has to be our "be grateful" thread, and we need to keep praying for those less fortunate.
LOL, here's my poor, tossed aside monkey I found in the tree one christmas morn Got my Annie on, and forgot about him, but only for a short time. He was back in my arms again for sure
found this whole Nativity at the thriftstore for 1.50!! It needs some paint so I will touch it up here and there f
Hi Denise, how are you doing? I have been decorating a few mirrors with glasswax stencils, yesterday and today. The stencils are very old and dealing with the problems of old age. I gave them a light workout. The can of glasswax glass cleaner is ancient as well. We both shook well before using. @Denise Happyfeet
