Do you mean that only 5% of the plastic is recyclable and the other stuff is not? I bet there are lots of people who "recycle plastic" who are unaware that everything but #1 and #2 should just go in the garbage.

That is the fact. I always wonder why the container makers make the recycle number so small I need a magnifier to read sometimes.

I wonder why they put a recycle number on there in the first place if it's not really. It's kinda misleading.

    Number 5 is also recyclable.

Dunno about the sand though. I haven’t really read anything other than what is here but how about volcanic rock? Can it not be crushed or is it already being utilized?

I did do just a little digging (pardon the pun) and did find that they’re exploring the use of Graphine in construction concrete which replaces nearly 70% of the normal use of sand and it’s binding capabilities are far greater and much stronger.

Good question. I saw one yesterday with the triangle but no number. No number means it does not get recycled. I don't buy bottled water but I wonder with all the bottles in stores how many have the "1 or "2" numbers on them.

The news today had a feature on a young couple for Louisiana that had started a glass recycling business that has exploded. They can even grind it to the texture of talcum powder. Great success story.

That is what we pay our leaders to protect us, well we'd be better off with the mafia.
