Any walk will do, be it beach, river etc.
We may get in a beach walk this week if weather stays nice. We always take the dogs so I just gave Foxy a bath Jake will bathe Leo. What a riot that was. Molly will be last. She is not doing well at all, if she lives this may be her last beach trip, then at our age, who knows.

Look like it will, for next 2 days. If we can get aqay from here, Jake is like a honing pigeon, but sometimes he will give in with a little insistence. No beach, no peace.

Wild, but, for the 10 1/2 years we lived in Jacksonville's Southside area, we only went to Jacksonville Beach four times. Went across the Intracoastal of St Augustine and walked on that beach once. That was it! Found out that we like going into mountains much better than on a ocean beach.

enjoy it...i won't get to see the ocean again..but here in this little town is a nice park...with large pond ..only rain fed...they call a lake...
walkway all round...sun was shimmering on it yesterday like diamonds...ripples with the wind...
    the feeling is mesmerizing

I have a spring-fed creek that meanders down one side of my property, merges with a larger creek, then runs along my back boundary. I love spending time down there.

I've been to the beach outside of Atlantic City NJ during the winter. There is something almost "sensory deprivation" looking out at the ocean on a cold, overcast winter's day. The horizon merges...you can't really tell where the sky and the water converge.

That looks great Kate. I haven't been in the water since my avatar in July 2019. Except for walking close to surf. Still like walking and visiting the beach.

I'm always there turning over rocks looking for arrowheads and panning for gold. I've not seen any critters (except for the occasional tiny fish.) I understand that it's the ideal environment for salamanders, because the water is so pure right at the spring/source.

    Good morning to all-
When we lived at the beach, everyday we'd take the kids and we'd walk and walk and walk to see what we could see.
I'd always carried a fishing rod and quite often I'd manage to fool some fools that became our lunch later. Loved those grilled fish.
The kids would find shells and other sea-critters, and we'd talk about what their finds were and how they lived and so on.
One day, the kids yelled, 'Hey, what's this?" When we got closers, we saw that bills were washing up- not birds' bills- but currency. The kids found several $5 and some $10 and even quite a few $20 bills that were just washing up in the surf.

Probably a drug deal that went wrong or something like that, but the kids made a haul that day.

But money washing up or not, I do love to walk the surf line and see what's there.

you all be safe and keep well- Ed

That is a lot of bills washing up, no telling where it came from.

In the 1980s my son was swimming in Jax Beach where a $5 bill floated up.

Your right, but, when we lived in Jacksonville, we did take drove down to St Augustine and Vilano Pier. I just remembered that. We also went thru the Fort in St Augustine. Jacksonville was nice, especially where we lived. However, we never seen so much lighting as we did there and then Hurricane Irma came over us and that's when we decided to go back to Colorado. Funny thing is, all of the people we talked to in our apt complex and other places in Jacksonville, didn't even know where Colorado, or surrounding states, were. Then again, where we live now (southern Nevada), nobody has ever been in Colorado, Wyoming or Montana. Of course, we have.
