Shirley. There are times when I can rely on someone to come along and offer up a one or two word synopsis that surpasses anything I could possibly write. Thank you.
@Holly Saunders I don't. However, I also understand that, everything considered, the "boss" may be all sorts of things, but he is ALWAYS the boss! Frank
Well having been a moderator of 2 other forums in the past I can totally understand @Ken Anderson reasons. Well to put it in a nutshell. When someone is scrolling through the internet looking for a a topic or maybe some help on a subject then we hopefully get ourselves a new member/s if the topic is being discussed here ...however identical posts on other forums split the chances.. This forum doesn't run itself for free ya know..it needs active members...
What's the difference between tattoos and spitting streams of liquified chaw, you might ask? Someone's tattoo doesn't affect me in any way. Someone spitting streams of disgusting brown saliva on the sidewalk I have to walk on affects me very much. And I like rodeo and have been to several. I also like opera. And ballet. And Nascar races. And football. I do prefer the non-spitting activities, though.
Welcome to the Seniors’ Only forum, @Mary Robi , and we are happy to have found a new member ! Please join in any of the conversations that interest you, and maybe, tell us a little bit about yourself, as well. I am one of the greeters here, so if I can help you with anything, while you are getting used to the forum, please just let me know.
Welcome to the forum, @Mary Robi. Tattoos don't affect me either, except for the ones that I have on my own body, and which I wish I didn't. Nevertheless, although I have tattoos myself, the honest answer would be that seeing that someone has tattoos does affect my first impression of them, and it's not a positive effect. However, it's not unusual for my opinion of that person to change after I get to know them. In other words, it's not a lasting impression. Still, if it were a job interview, that could make the difference in whether I choose one person or another.
@Mary Robi How about the more visceral, brutal sports, even more so than football? Oh, WELCOME!! Shouted out, with emphasis! Frank
@Ken Anderson Of course, this has been debated already, ad nauseum. Still, one cannot help but imagine that, given the service industry committed to food, that servers or hosts displaying bloody, unseemly piercings and baubles dangling about their visages, are surely a source of negative affectation of the patrons' hunger.......I would hire no such worker, were I so empowered. That's probably why I'm not........P.C. be damned! Frank
Boxing? Mixed martial arts? Ice hockey? Ferret legging? Women's Olympic figure skating? Brutal stuff like that? Naw, the mere sight of blood gives me the Victorian Vapors. Give me a good rousing Curling match or the Wide World of Sloth Racing finals and I'm a happy girl.
Hi Mary Robi and welcome to the forum. I am fairly new here and trust me .. the nonsense created in this thread by that person is not common here. This forum is a nice forum, it's entertaining, warm, welcoming and even educational at times. Keep looking around ... and just disregard the very few here who are not happy in their own lives and want to take the rest of us down. I've been doing forums for many many moons .. and this one is the best I've come across since 1989. Welcome aboard
