Awhile back I did a lot of crossword puzzles. When I got tired of them and quit, my daughter asked me why I never did crosswords anymore. I told her I knew all the words, so it wasn't fun anymore.

Oh now this is too intriguing to pass up! :) All the words, eh? What's bumf? (Without looking it up!) And what's the longest word in the English dictionary? And does the word pochemuchk apply to me? :D

Okay, okay... bumf is either a useless document or toilet paper depending on which dictionary you use... one really is useless, the other absolutely not.

And a pochemuchk is Russian for someone who asks too many questions. So I'm making sure not to ask any in this reply!

I have been following the groups on facebook about adult coloring books. Th=ere have been some really detailed and beautiful pictures shared. I never stopped coloring, when my grandson's were younger we would sit and color together.

The coloring helps the mind de-stress, which relieves anxiety.

I purchased an adult coloring book at Michaels Arts and Crafts store. Some of the coloring books were geometric designs and mandalas. I chose one with cats in creative pursuits, such as in a pastry shop, traveling, a sewing room, and writing. (It sounds juvenile, but it really isn't.) I was coloring last night when I was bored with television. It is a good diversion when nothing else seems to work.

All right, I have a question for the people here that like these adult coloring books. When I was looking on the page that has all of the discounted and free stuff from Amazon, one of the things that I saw bunches of was coloring books from the Kindle Store. So, do people buy the book and print out the pages they want to color, or do you color them online with a paint program ?
My friend, @Joyce Mcgregor loves these coloring books; but I am not sure if she can color them online or not, and I am not sure if she has a printer to print them out either. I was going to tell her about the free ones; but I don't know if she can use them.
    More info.......... Anyone ? ?

I think coloring books, puzzle type things are fun. I have never used the adult coloring books. I'd rather have time to knit. But different things are for different people.

I found on Amazon adult connect the dots books and I'm ordering one for myself as well as a word search book for my step dad.

I've come full circle. When I was a wee lad, I couldn't stay in the lines, and chose weird color's for things.
Now, my hands don't work too well and I can't stay in the lines plus, my eyesight is bad and I can't tell some colors apart.:(:D

For my one granddaughter who turned 10 this month, One of her presents was a couple of books, that had buildings and houses a Dover publication to cut and assemble. I bought them on Amazon. It made me think of the cereal boxes 1950's on the back of them had different buildings and things to cut and assemble. My neighbor colors in these books. She has a bad sight problem, it gives her confidence. Some are framed and on her walls. :)

They must be catching on here too, because our local grocery store has adult coloring books. Since they seem to have come from nowhere, I am thinking this is a created fad. Were adults clamoring for coloring books or are kids not doing them anymore?

I have been using coloring books since they became popular. They actually distress people, it works! I bought all these high end markers and pencils but have found the 20 pack at the local dollar store is my favorite. They've now come out with ones that are swear words, they're really funny.
