Here is one link, but some of the reports on Twitter said that WSJ also is reporting this. There is a link from this article to the one in WSJ; but it wants you to sign up to read it. https://thepostmillennial.com/breaking-us-navy-detected-titan-implosion-on-sunday-but-biden-admin-only-released-news-on-thursday-after-hunter-plea-deal-and-whistleblower-reports-released?
I wasn't following this but got caught up on it today. Where are some people's BRAINS????? All these rich people are dead with their money adventures. Nothing else to do with all their millions... https://www.wmtw.com/article/missing-titan-submersible-titanic/44297754
That is the area a Russian Nuke firing sub would likely come in to attack the east coast. There would likely be less than two minutes until impact. I don't think the Russians are in the same league as our subs, especially after seeing the performance of the Tanks all of NATO feared for decades. I do know that their torpedoes are not capable of depths that ours are. Until the new Los Angeles class subs most of our torpedoes had a firing depth limit of 485 feet, and that might be still the limit. All that depth ability is nice but you still have to expose yourself to get a good shot. Ship to Ship like a harpoon is fired at about 50 feet depth, the long ranged Cruise missiles are in that 150 foot depth range for our subs. I was reading about the new engines for our old aged B-52s and they are going to continue to use the B-52 up until the 2050s. Rolls Royce is building the new engines which are not really new but this model will be a bit special. They will need to be mounted back further into the wind spar than any other engine that the B-52 has used. During the Vietnam war the B-52s were all stationed in Japan and those aircraft had been refitted with exterior side bomb mounts that actually hung from the skin and frame, not under the wings. The weight was so heavy they could not take off with full fuel loads, so they would always leave with half a fuel load and then all meet up with the tankers somewhere out in the Pacific and top off, same on the way home they would have tankers waiting off the coast of Vietnam to refuel them. Anyway every last one of those aircraft that survived had to have their entire air frame and skins rebuilt due to extreme sagging of the exterior skin. When Nixon put the wood to North Vietnam we lost 24 B-52 but they never let up and after the war a few years passed and the leaders of the North Vietnamese said that if the bombings had continued one more week they would have called for a truce. There is something that will get your attention when you hear a B-52 strike. At night my bunk would shake due to the strikes somewhere at least 25 miles away. We were not allowed to operate within 25 miles of a strike. They never would tell our operations there would be a strike at this location etc but they would just simply say stay out !!
The youngest was saying that he took this adventure to be nearer his Father, couldn't get much nearer than what they were in the final second. Of course you know something like this happens so fast you do not have time to feel pain much less see what happened. I do think the extremely rich are bored with their lives and have nothing better to do than spend some of that money for a thrill. You can see everything and more of that wreck than what that tour would show you. There are some very interesting things about the wreck and even today there are people arguing over the construction of the Titanic. Jeezuz, the thing was riveted together and actually had some pretty innovative new things like those automatic compartment doors that sealed a compartment that threatened to spill over to the next and the next and so on. The sinking of the Titanic was actually caused by ignoring the ice flows and going full steam to make a schedule. It takes a long time to slow a fast moving ship. One thing that is interesting to get an idea how sophisticated our latest Aircraft Carriers are is to watch the sea trials when they have everyone on the flight deck and make a hard turn left or right, the ship can turn on a dime for it's size and weight, the view of the angle is mind blowing. here is the link.. for the Gerald Ford sea trials
This is really sad if true: "The sister of Mr. Dawood, whose son went with him on the Titan trip, said the son did not want to go on the minivan-sized deep sea submersible to explore the shipwrecked Titanic on Sunday. In fact, according to her, he was 'terrified.' "But the 19-year-old, ... knew the dangerous expedition was important to Pakistani tycoon father. So even though he 'wasn’t very up for it' and had expressed his concerns to another family member, Suleman joined his lifelong Titanic obsessive father. ..." One of the reporters said the fact that the thing was launched on Father's Day was a factor. Can you imagine any father letting their child, even an adult one, go on such a dangerous trip. LINK
I saw that headline on another site. I couldn't bring myself to read the entire story. Didn't I read elsewhere earlier on that the kid was borderline special needs?
I've been hearing about the one man who had been signed on for the "thrill seeking" and backed out due to the potential danger of it all. Can you imagine how his mind is going now with the 5 dead???
After reading comments sections on the various news articles about the missing submarine, I have a whole new level of personal disgust for humanity. The jokes, level of ignorance, and lack of humanity is totally appalling to me. People truly are disgusting.
I was thinking the same thing. I got sick of that type of reaction when there were jokes going around about the Challenger disaster the day after it happened.
People increasingly lack empathy in today’s world. They can’t get past their own narcissism or their constant need for online validation.
The Challenger disaster was nearly 40 years ago, and when I showed my disgust at the comments, I got the "Think you're better than we are?" looks. Those were from adults in their 30s. Maybe we all deserve to go down the toilet if such disregard for human life is the norm.
I remember the Challenger disaster like it was yesterday. I had gone home for lunch, made myself a sandwich, and sat down to watch the launch. Then was horrified to see them blown to bits on live TV.
I wasn't home when the Challenger blew up, but I was in between jobs and watching TV for both the O.J. low-speed chase and the Twin Towers being hit. I remember that one of the Challenger passengers was a school teacher and her parents were there watching the whole thing unfold.
I watched the 911 catastrophe at work. All the conference rooms have TVs and everyone in the building was either glued to their desk computer internet or the conference room TVs. It was a sobering experience seeing an attack on American soil, and in real time.
I think that person was the one that has a TV special of tracking down old mysteries unsolved, like for instance did Hitler escape WWII and secretly travel to Argentina at the very end. He had a different adventure each week and it was very interesting.
