I don't order from Amazon prime but my wife really enjoys shopping there. It's not funny but she has ordered so many kitchen gadgets it's hard to remember where she put all of them. Maybe more interesting is that we have Discover card that is some how tied into Amazon so when cash back builds up some my wife has no problem using that to buy something. For the last 3 months that tie is paid 5% into cash back for everything bought on Amazon. Another feature she uses is Honey. That seeks out cupons, price reductions and can apply the savings to purchases. I'm not promoting anything just passing along some money saving tips. This might get you to the web site if you want to check it out. https://www.joinhoney.com/
Whether you'll get your money's worth out of Amazon Prime depends on your interests, needs, and shopping characteristics. I've been a member for a few years now, primarily for the movies, the music, and the occasional purchase. It's marginally worth it for me at present, but if they up the annual fee again, I may reconsider my membership.
It is still worth it for us, as we used to spend over $300 just in shipping Christmas presents to the grandchildren from here. Although it doesn't have as much of "Grandma's Touch" to it now, it is cheaper, easier and more convenient to do shopping for people 2000+ miles away via Amazon. We still do most of the shopping for the Alaska grandchildren locally.
I currently have Prime but will cancel it when trial period runs out. And then the next time I order I'll take the trial again. I don't order that much but when I do I usually want it NOW!!!!
I've had Prime for 20 years now. Amazon is investing tons into their own trucks and local delivers to get things to customers faster and faster. That cost is passed on to members, and at some point, if a household does not get enough delivered in a year, or does not watch enough Prime series, etc., it comes down to a cost/benefit decision. I worked at Amazon's 2nd Distribution Center in New Castle, DE, back in 1998. They were, and are, amazing!
Ok, this is my first month as an Amazon Prime member and I have a question about purchasing a movie. I accidently purchased a movie and then cancelled as soon as I realized what I had done. I received an email confirming the order but not one for the cancellation. So I looked for it but couldn't find it. Where is it at?
Help request I sent to my online bank: Amazon Prime recently changed their log in procedure to one that requires a smart phone. My phone is not a smart phone. I cannot log into my account to complain or change any log in options. I've been on the phone to their support who required that I know obscure things to verify that it was my account, such as the exact date I started my membership. They were no help at all. It's absurd that I can't access the service I'm paying for. I want to quit Amazon Prime and go to another movie streaming site.. I want a refund.of recent charges from them and to refuse any.future charges I do not want to change my debit card number to accomplish this. Help me do this, M and T.
Insanity. I've been on the phone with their support people telling them i want to cancel my account. They send me a link to cancel that requires me to log in to cancel I tell them I can't cancel my account because I can't log in. They send me an email with a link that, guess what? - requires me to log in. Idiots. To get these guys off my autopay from my checking I may need to close my online account. Maybe that's for the best. Online banking has not worked out for me. I've had to change my debit card number three times because of fraudulent charges. I need to go back to receiving.bills in the mail and sending checks.. I've avoided this because I'm lazy, but it's better than constantly being irritated by these corporate parasites. C'est la vie.
I'm so irritated reading the above, because it happens way too often and causes so much stress when they can't see the woods for the trees ! I'm going through similar with PayPal - they ignore the fact you do not have, nor want the blasted phone !
I quti PayPal a while ago. I just didn't see them as a necessary service. Now I'm going round and round with my bank. They actually give you no option to manage automatic deductions. Once you set one up, you're stuck with it. I wonder if we'd all be happier without computers.
