Several people have posted this picture on Facebook today, and said that the UN building in New York does not have any flags out in front of the building today.
I tried to look it up, but didn’t find anything that gave a reason that there would not be any flags out, and while they are apparently taken down over weekends, they should be there in the middle of the week.
Is it closed , maybe ?
Has anyone else read anything about this or know what might be happening ?

They should shove into the East River. Thank you Rockefeller family, for nothing.

I'm all for leaving the UN. We have been paying much more than other Member Nations ever since it was founded in 1945.

Not only am I for leaving the UN, I'm also very much in favor of getting that outfit out of the USofA. We don't need a bunch of 3rd world scum telling us how to run our country.

The UN is un-elected so it should have no law making ability no matter if they have 100% agreement

The U.N. cannot make law but in it’s charter it can uphold and enforce international law.
The interesting part is that the members do not necessarily have to abide by the laws of the hosting countries. (Nigeria, Switzerland and the United States)

And, Bobby therein lies the rub. When I lived in New York I was frequently in the neighborhood of the U.N. and those embassy workers flouted our laws all the time. Double park, jay walk, their bratty kids running wild in the streets, pushy in the shops and much, much more. International law even when ratified by the U.N. usually does not hold much water with us. When I was living in France while in the USAF, I did often travel to Geneva to the communications center where we officers were afforded the courtesy of being able to make phone calls home at no cost to us. That was all I ever liked the U. N. for. They push that diplomatic immunity too far and too often.

I doubt that the US will leave the UN but I think that would be a positive move.

It is easier to destroy if from within. Let it make mistakes than expose it. Remove the military support. Get rid of the W.H.O. as a medical dictatorship.

Okay, I think we need to examine another facet of the U.N.: The E.U.

The E.U. has had observer rights since ‘74 and since 2011, has had some enhanced rights as an observer since the majority (if not all) of it’s members are also members of the U.N.
Now, think of this. Since the E.U. has no voting rights at the U.N. but can observe and join in during whatever discussions there may be, doesn’t that sound a bit like one Huge lobby group with a lot of money to throw around to help influence those representatives who are participants at the U.N.?

In my mind, if we left the U.N. we would also be pulling out of any influence there might be from the E.U. who are hades bent for a one world government.

Yeah, maybe this should be in the conspiracy section but it also kind of fits here.

What has the U.N. actually accomplished anyway besides sit around and talk?

Somebody is making some spare change I’m sure. Other than that...... Dunno.
The U.N. peace keeping force has been around a while and has been utilized here and there but what the difference is between NATO and the U.N. forces are I haven’t a clue. Possibly the membership fees are different.
