Quite true. The biggest issue, however, is all of the lower economic class that would pay the biggest price. How many of them can afford to buy a new ELECTRIC stove AND have a 220 volt wiring system installed ? As mentioned before, the U.S. already is going to have a major problem building thousands upon thousands of charging stations for elec cars. Going all elec for stoves would only make matters worse. Compounding all of the above issues is the tsunami of 2.6 MILLION illegal aliens that pour across the border every year. I live near the U.S./Mexican border and I know that on the U.S side of the border you must travel at least 20 miles from the border before you see a single store/restaurant that is not PACKED with Mexicans. Today I went grocery shopping at Food 4 Less and the checkout lines were 30 deep.
The EU started a trend when it comes to unelected officials and agencies making legislation. Seriously though, the Trump administration was busy taking a lot of power From the EPA and Biden gave it all back and more.
Naw only thing I'd change inner post is the name of the King of Fools...I nominate Mayor Pete for King of Fools
Patently false? It would seem that having a patent on their brand of false statements works well. They do not need a disclaimer and they can’t be sued.
OK, the AGA is the American Gas Association and they were simply denying the government claim that gas stoves are harmful. I don't see how they are making an "effort to destroy us," so maybe I'm dense.
When we installed natural gas in our house, I did research and found there was an uptick in respiratory problems in houses with gas stoves. I grew up in a house that had unvented gas stoves and had for almost 100 years with no respiratory issues. My wife has a history of asthma, so we thought long and hard about it and opted to have the gas stove and a good hood above. We have always done a BUNCH of canning, and gas stoves are leagues above electric when it comes to food processing. I don't know a single commercial kitchen that uses electric stoves, but they may exist in the Northwest where electricity is dirt cheap.
I grew up with unvented gas stoves, too. No "vent hood" in any of our houses for many years, and the hood I currently have does not vent to the outside so it's pointless. We were happy to have our gas fireplace and stove during the power outage and hard freeze 2 years ago. Those were the only things that kept us comfortable during that time.
The AGA is not trying to destroy us, the Fed is. All I was saying is that facts & truth don't matter to the government. I guess my "they" was nonspecific.
I just read this tidbit... the Inflation Reduction Act passed by Congress includes an $840 subsidy for Americans who choose to switch from gas to electric.
Ok, that $840 subsidy pays for the elec stove, BUT what about the decades of paying much higher elec bills ? Not for me, thank you.
I just found it interesting that that was hidden in the monster spending bill and now "they" are easing us into the "gas stoves BAD" campaign. Coincidence? (And don't forget the expense of having a kitchen rewired for the 220 stove.)
