Well ok, now that that's all settled, I mean when face with @Steve North's good common sense, only one conclusion is foreseeable. @Frank Sanoica ask a gueation about an old phrase, and I've often found myself doing that. I thought we had a thread concerning such questions, but I can't find it. Maybe @Ken Anderson knows, and can stick this over there. I'm known as the Tech Zombie for a reason. Anyway, I goggled Frank's question, and it seems to be 'ridden out on a rail', was a way for the populous to ridicule and get rid of unwanted persons from their towns, and that person was lucky if they weren't tarred and feathered beforehand.
@Steve North "You will realise you miss us.." Mebbe so, but he would not miss any repeat of the recent hassle!
I have absolutely NO idea what the hassle is all about or even where it is.. I just voiced my opinion without any information as to why he wanted to leave..
@Steve North Yeah, evidently, the hassle was between others, and you inadvertently got caught up in the aftermath; no big thing at all. Happens now & then. Frank
Frank.. I still have NO idea what the topic was and where it was.. I rarely get involved in heavy discussions, especially on here.... Did I say something wrong ??? Did I insult someone??? If so, I apologise ....
Hassle is of everyone's own making. I try and keep out unless it involves me. This is a nice forum why are people having hassle? Can't fathom it unless it is,an attention seeking thing. Maybe members who are having problems are doing so behind the scenes.
@Steve North As Patsy says, not to worry. No apology needed. I've forgotten already what the circumstances were; silly squabble, I think. Frank
This reminds me of when I managed a ward full of geriatric patients. As you I used to have to holar out at some stage of the day. "Behave the lot of you. Otherwise you went get your supper"
It was a "one word" disagreement that I had with another member. The member got fairly offended, but I seen statements by other members that could have related to the word I used. The member I'm talking about is very nice, but sometimes a person can take a word and.......well, whatever. The word was pertaining to the picture shown and nobody else. I used the word to simply say how I felt about the picture. There are certain things in life today that some of us older folks simply don't understand and this picture was one of them. I'm sorry if I offended the member, but the word I use really did describe how I felt about the picture. When a person puts a new Thread on a forum or replies to a Thread, "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" can happen. I done a couple of new Threads on another Senior forum and boy did I get bashed for them. Something dealing with a relative of mine and about smoking. Thing about it was, some of the smokers really belted me, while the non-smokers completely understood me. Just never know.
