I had a handicapped placard to hang from the rear view mirror whenever I needed to take my aging mother somewhere. After she died, I just kept it in the glove compartment. A year or two later, I had a hernia repaired and was in pain every time I moved. I used that placard once or twice to park near the entrance to the grocery so I would not have to travel so far. I was desperate at that time.

I would not consider there to be an issue with that. Honestly, I rarely see anyone park in the handicap spots when I go shopping...it always seems as though there is a surplus of them.

I don't know if this is a rant or just a Shake My Daggone Head...

I ordered some 65 gallon 3 mil thick trash bags from Lowes today, to be shipped to my house.

    Here's the email string:
-11:24AM Confirmed delivery for Monday October 25 (3 weeks out)
-11:50AM Gonna miss that delivery date, do you want to cancel? (I did not)
-2:02PM Your items are on the way!!! You'll have them October 7 (day after tomorrow)

I've never ordered online at Lowes before except to have something shipped directly to the store. I guess they're still trying to get the hang of it.

This is what happens when carpenters design websites ;)

I ordered a Farberware coffee percolator from Bed, Bath, and Beyond. It came today and when I opened the package, it was a USED coffee pot. Came complete with someone's nasty hair stuck to the side. I was so disgusted; I guess BB&B doesn't check their returns very carefully. Husband has already dropped it off at Fedex with a nasty note inside.

I'm shocked at the number of negative reviews I see on Amazon from folks who have had that exact same experience. It's rather disgusting to know that anything I buy might have been returned & restocked after being used, and absent any obvious signs, I would have no way of knowing. The stuff apparently is neither inspected nor cleaned.

    And speaking of Amazon...
Early this year I purchased (see image). While it wasn't as stale as the previous time I'd ordered it, shipping & delivery was not o.k.
First, I'd think a company as big as Amazon could afford to put items in appropriate packages- but it wasn't in a shipping box, wasn't wrapped, they'd simply stuck my name/address label on the actual item.
Second, the driver left it outside in the snow. If I hadn't heard him and immediately gone out to get it, it could have been ruined (or stolen). oatmeal.jpg

I hate to laugh at the sheer laziness of a label being put right on the product like that, but it makes me think of the Depends commercial where the woman is sick of facing a cashier ("My grandma used to piss her pants all the time") so she buys them online in "discrete unmarked containers." SURPRISE!!! I'll just leave these by the curb...

Green People have been complaining about the waste of the packaging. They are doing what MacDonald's tried to do--please all of the people all of the time.

I'm looking for a camo jacket and some medium-tall wading boots, and thought that rather than drive around to all the local Goodwill stores, I'd give their online auction site a try. I found a couple of jackets I want to bid on, so I'm creating an account.

As has happened elsewhere, I decide to use the convoluted password that they suggest, only to have them spit back at me that it does not meet their requirements!!!!

What in the wide world of sports is wrong with these people???? How in the fresh bloody h3ll can your website suggest a non-compliant password???? (The error above is that their suggestion did not include a symbol.)

I got a symbol for you....

I think that it is your computer/iPhone that suggests the password, @John Brunner . Anytime that I have to register at any website, my iPad suggests that I use their “strong” password, which is some mixture of gobbledy-gook.
I always take the choose your own password option.
I agree that I do not see why they would object to the password that you used, it seems to follow all of the requirements, except for the symbol. So, it must not be optional.

Are you saying that my browser is making this recommendation and not the website itself?

Should I Delete my comment before making myself a public spectacle?

edit to add: I just checked Firefox. I had no idea.

    Thanks for the education.

I have had the same experience, @John Brunner. I think the issue is that the website does not accept all the special characters that the browser uses.
