Riding The Hondapotamus: Taken way back when I was about 70 years old, the pic below is one of the few with me astride my Honda GL1800. Weighting around 1,000 lbs. fully loaded, the kids called it the "Hondapotamus" given its substantial and ponderous nature. As cruisers go, the GL was certain hefty and quite ungainly off road. It had a massive, 6-cylinder motor.

Sometime around 2013, I became familiar with the BMW R1200 GS and its far superior handling/performance and traded the Honda for a 2014 R1200 GS, which I still have today. The GS weighs about half that of the big GL.

Nice bike and has plenty of hp too. My neighbor the x-cop, told me at the fence two weeks ago, when I ask him if he was still riding bikes, that he was, and about he had a BMW bike, that was really nice, and this guy kept trying to buy it and he didn't want to sell it, but he just could not turn down the price he offered, and he had to let it go.

Nice bike; it favors the first bike I ever rode that belonged to my friend, Billy, it was an old Cushman bike gear shifter that was on the right side of the tank, which had two gears. :)

I chopped Jakes Chopper, or whatever it was, actually, I sold it when he was at work. He was too crazy on that bike.

My DH has a couple of spills on his BMW @Marie Mallery one of which he ended up in hospital for a week cause the drs had to scrape gravel out of his elbow / shoulder and repair the back of his hand ( he had summery type fingerless gloves on ) and a denim jacket which had the top shoulder bit worn / torn off right through his skin , he still has the scars on his shoulder
