No matter how I feel about the subject or even what the Bible may say about it doesn’t matter. Every women’s and girl’s locker room, female sports, a bunch of bakers and other food service establishments, schools, religious institutions, department stores etc have all felt what 1% of the population can do when there’s enough money and political clout backing them. And let’s face the facts, a government that will close churches as nonessential and leave liquor stores open as essential, has little regard for the faith based community let alone a faith based institution of higher learning.
Hey Al. I realize you guys aren’t the best of friends and I also realize I’m going off topic by asking but how about sticking to the topic. Granted, it wasn’t the best OP ever produced but seeing how there’s two pages of people understanding what the topic is, I’d say it is a keeper.
What are you talking about, Bobby? Al and I are getting together tonight to have a couple of beers and play some pool. (LOL)
Didn’t mean to ruffle any feathers Al. What I was hoping for is that you might explain what you meant on #17. (ref. “what the three is about”). You have an opinion on the subject I’m sure because Denver isn’t the only faith based school that is going to run into trouble with the alphabet people but for whatever reason you didn’t go into any detail.
I read the whole article Cody and found it both interesting and encouraging. Like the others here, I agree that a religious organization has the right to set it's own acceptance standards. Unfortunately though, local government entities are constantly enforcing liberal social laws that favor LGBT rights over religious rights. That's the reality that costs many people their careers and businesses. The good news is that most of these cases moving up the court ladder eventually reverse the trend, appropriately favoring the Constitution's First Amendment over latter, liberal interpretations of the 14th amendement. The encouraging part of this article to me is seeing a church leader bold enough to support Christian Biblical moral values over opposing cultural liberal values. There's too many churches and leaders not doing this today. Even though the Catholic church remains a deviant to true Christianity in my view, I give individuals within the organization, and the organization itself, credit when they do uphold Biblical doctrines. Kudos to Denver Archbishop Samual Aquila. May the Lord give him strength to resist the intense pressure that will inevitably be thrown at him by the LGBT community and liberal Denver government authorities.
Another interesting thing that I am just coming across, is about hiring transgender teachers. If a person says they are now transgender, new name, new identity, etc; employers cannot look up their background before they identified as transgender. So, suppose a guy is a known pedophile, would never ever be considered as being hired as a teacher in any school. However, he puts on a skirt and changes his name from Charles to Charlene, and now he has no pedophile history, and Charlene becomes a teacher for our young children. This would actually apply for any time that a person wanted to get rid of a criminal history. It makes me wonder if that is why we are now getting more of the transgender people into the government ?
When "employers cannot look up their background before they identified as transgender," is it strictly due to the name change, or is investigating their prior identity prohibited by law?
As I understand it, it is not just the name change, otherwise, they would not need to also go transgender. I remember reading about some guy who was supposed to be charged with some crime (don’t remember what anymore); but after he “became” a woman, he was considered a whole new individual, and not just the same person with a different name. The “woman” had not committed the crime, so he could not be charged with anything at that point.
Interesting. I recall accusations that Bruce Jenner changed genders for that reason (vehicular manslaughter?)
