Whether by corporation or by political philosophy there will always be the question of the motivations behind those who receive the mantle of leadership. The natural inclination of all mankind is to produce gain which partially negates any proposed premise regarding honor, the deciding factor of who is to be treated kindly and who must suffer. On the other hand, if the leadership is based on honor then gain is a simple byproduct of what that grouping has established as honor. Note: Honor, in this case being defined as the moral or ethical code by which the general public has been made to believe either by individual *contrivance and or manipulation or codified *ideological premises. (*can be at times regarded as synonymous) No matter which direction a grouping of states or individual compilation of peoples wishes to turn, the hegemony (which is inevitable) will always will out over the general populous which in turn must abide by the often precarious and questionable standards by which the leadership wishes to force it's motives upon.
It seems to me what we've got is about the best we can do and that is the Constitution as drawn up by our founding fathers. Interpitations will vary according to personal whelms, but there should be enough checks and balances to bring the ship of state back on course as determined by our elected representatives.
Of course Governments are necessary because their is NO other alternative that would keep some measure of order in society.
