Sadly, I am a spendthrift and always have been, but I look for quality. That does not preclude quantity in quality as I spend a fortune on shoes in particular, and since having COVID-19, I bought several pairs during my recovery. With no place to wear them yet. Go figure.
When I worked for Champion Paper Company, I earned more money than I needed, given that I didn't have a lot of vices. Realizing that I hadn't cashed the last three checks that I received, I decided to see how long I could go. I ended up with a letter from the corporate offices reminding me that I had eleven paychecks (about $15,000) uncashed and asking me to cash my checks within thirty days. Not long afterward, they started printing something to that effect on the paychecks.
I'm mostly a spendthrift but have my moments of tight-waddery. I hate spending money on "necessities," that's just no fun. And why does spendthrift sound like it would mean the opposite of what it does??
Frugality mostly. I shop sales mainly. I don't clothes aimed other things unless I need it. Don't know, maybe I am cheapskate...oh floats my boat
