Given that the posting members on this forum is small.. those of you who ''need'' Pm notifications..could you not just give your email address to your 'friends''
I don’t really see what the size of the forum has to do with it. E-maill notifications and the option to have them or not, is an integral part of any forum. Members shouldn't have to give out their E-mail address to supplement the failure of the system.
I agree with your point, but my reference to the 'size' of the membership of the forum was meant to point out that PM's here tend to be between 'friends' and not strangers, so whilst the PM system isn't working as it should, I can't see a problem with friends contacting each other by email, if they can't wait to read a PM on the forum when they log in..
I don't know if it would infringe on an individual Member's privacy, but for those who wouldn't mind, I would really like to hear the speaking voices of some of the Members I have come to know. Sincerely. Hal
Unfortunately, I don't think the forum software supports this yet unless they were uploaded first to Youtube, Facebook, Vimeo or another of supported imbeds, at least not so far as I can tell. Give me a week or two, please. I need to upgrade the software anyhow, as I haven't done that in quite a while. It's not a free upgrade so I can't do it right now. Since I have passed by several upgrades, I might find that the upgrades software will support it natively. Otherwise, there is a modification that can be added to it that will do so. I don't want to do the mod until after I've done the upgrade because sometimes modifications don't work with new versions of the software. Along the way, I should be able to figure out the email thing too.
Test This is the best I can do for now. Once I have upgraded the software and installed a modification, if necessary, there should be a smoother way to do it.
