Gillets is a French word meaning sweater..
I wear a quilted vest all the time in winter when I go out.. I wear it under my down filled winter coat and when I go into someone's house or when I take off my coat, it still keeps my body warm.. I very often keep it on in our house just for comfort..

You wear long leggings when it gets cold...

Oops my bad...it's spelled GiLet..( only one L)..
    noun: gilet; plural noun: gilets
    1. a light sleeveless padded jacket.
Yes I wear leggings under my trousers if it's really cold in the winter.. We've just had a long range forecast for snow for 3 months here this winter..*ugh*...

You wear boots most of the time in winter...

I wear boots ALL of the time in winter and they are boots for up here which are cold rated to -50c.. They are bulky but very warm..
When I go out dressed up nicely, I also have warm boots that are not that bulky and are more dressy..

As far as snow goes, I sincerely hope we get an abundant of snow this year along with extreme cold weather.. Our small village makes lots of money with winter, so BRING IT ON .....

Have you ever made a snow castle or a snow sculpture

not guilty.. Our vacations don't cost anything like our spare money...

Those winter boots are available up in our area at most sporting goods stores.. Also snowmobile boots are rated for -55c.. The dressy boots I wear are only -30c rating but that's OK for going out.. They are a bit pricey but they will last you a lifetime and keeping warm feet has no price.. Any sporting goods shop that specializes in snowmobiling will have all kinds of extremely warm clothing........

You still have the time to go to the library to take out books to read...
