I have this bug about being early for nearly everything and I think the one entity that taught me that lesson centers around one teacher.

I found out the hard way that teachers do not like to start late nor be interrupted by a student entering the classroom late nor someone going to the pencil sharpener during class.
The patience level of my teachers was “0” for such things as I found out by entering a classroom just 5 minutes late. Teachers are supposed to teach and the lecture I received when I went into the classroom was one of epic proportions since that one lecture formed my own level of impatience later in life toward people who showed up late for work.

Now, in answer to the OP as in, “am I more impatient”(?) is probably not. There are some things that come up which I am not well practiced nor versed at that will bring about a certain amount of new ire with myself.
That said, I can easily write that I’m about the same as always which has nearly always been at the level of about a “3” on a scale of 1-10.

I used to meet an ex pastor of mine for lunch a lot but then as his time apparently became more valuable than mine I started ducking out when wait time got to 15 minutes.
Currently I order quite a few things before I know I'll need them so when they arrive they just sit there for days before I open package.

Teachers seem to be faced with that problem everywhere in the world and apparently have come up with different solutions. A Chinese student told me how amazed she was that even if she was late she was still allowed to enter a class room. Because I was looking sort of puzzled she then added that that kind of thing would not be possible in China because classroom doors don't have a handle outside. Either be punctual or wait for the next class.

I don't know if it's impatience or simply a matter of valuing my time, but I won't stand in line for anything if there are any possible alternatives. If the lines are too long at the grocery store, I'll come back later when there are fewer people, and I won't wait for more than a few minutes for a table at a restaurant.

It's funny, I've noticed my patience change both ways as I've aged.

I'm way more patient with most people than I ever was before. Maybe "compassionate" is a better word.

But on the other hand, there are fools and bad actors whose behaviour I used to tolerate that these days I just have to speak up to. I'm not nasty, but I can't just stand by and let bad behaviour slide.

I don't know why that reminds me of this story:

When I was married in my mid twenties, my wife and I went to one of the original membership shopping places outside of DC (G.E.M.) We were walking in the door where you had to show your card, and there was an older gentleman walking in right behind us, kind of oblivious to the whole process. The guy at the door said "I need to see your card!" in a rather nasty tone, so without missing a beat I said "That's OK. He's with us." My wife looked at me like I was from outer space.

I'm not sure I did the guy a favor. You had to show your card at checkout.
