    @Hal Pollner, does eventually mean you were a scientist before becoming an engineer?

    @Hal Pollner

    Touche, then. While we're at it, then, I'll try to recall the unanswered questions:

    E.E. Math: E (sub-L) = L di / dt; where did 63.2% of total current change represented by one time constant come from? If resistive, t = R C. All inductances have resistance, pure inductance does not exist.

    Gee, I can't think of the rest.

    You're talking about the "Q", or "figure of merit" of the inductance in question.

    The "Q" is represented by XL/R. or Inductive Reactance divided by Resistance.

    An inductor with NO ohmic resistance would have perfect Reactance, and this is never found in real situations.

    I can't answer the time-constant question, because It's been so long that we've had to use it in electrical math problems.

    HEY LON,

    If you used the Korean GI Bill, that means you had to serve during the Korean Conflict, which was between June 1950 and July 1953.

    At the end of the Korean War you were just 18 and were only old enough during the last year of that War, unless you enlisted at a younger age than 18.....
