Glad you're almost off the caffeine, Denise. Is have to wean myself slowly if I had to give it up. I wouldn't bother with substitutes though because for me it's the caffeine and not the taste of the coffee. I do just as well with a NoDoz tablet if coffee isn't available. Hmmm, maybe I'll switch to that. Then I don't have to bother making it or buying the Creamer I like which is expensive. The sugar free carnation flavored creamer is $4.99 plus even the SF adds a lot of calories because I like more than 1 TBS.
Yes, even at the 2 cups a day I was used to, I had pretty, bad headaches. I drink mostly ice-coffee now (decaf) with real half and half, and pure stevia I get at the health-food store. I do have Baking cocoa I add on occasion, but don't really need it. To me, it's delicious without. I found with the ice-coffee, I don't have the awful hotflashes in the a.m. either, duh See you later, denise
What caused the hot flashes? Lately I'm always cold even when I don't have the A/C on....this is just recently. Maybe my eating habits since my mom died??
I've had those since about the time I turned 50 Chrissy, menopause. I also get chilled, which seems weird, but I still have a few lingering hotflashes, and the hot coffee sets them off, or makes them worse. I just always have a few early morning. I think it's how I spend my time took, that's why I am doing so many more physical activities, than I did from my 20s on. I mean regular, everyday (or shoot for everyday) exercises. Walking is the easiest, cheapest and most fun thing I do. But I notice a big "good" change in how I feel all-around. I'd rather bundle in a blankie than throw everything off though, that's for sure, it's such a hassle
True about rather being cold, easier to bundle up. I didn't have any symptoms when I went through menopause, thank goodness. No hot flashes, nothing. I've seen some women suffer terribly and I was worried but I sailed through it.
I hear that from quite a few women Chrissy, it is a blessing to miss out on the hotflashes for sure, LOL!! I couldn't do the ERT simply because, I spent my whole life (BM= before menopause) with the worst migraines, blinded me, numbed my left arm, left side of my face and even my tongue I don't know what caused the odd sensation of my arm being squeezed as if a "full arm" blood pressure cuff were on there They were a nightmare, and I lost many jobs because I got them 2 or 3 times a month so bad, I could not get to work. Then, after menopause, they went away, except for maybe once a year, or two years even. I guess the ERT, even progesterone creams etc., put back what was causing the migrains, so I'll pick hotflashes over migraines any day hugs, denise
